As a pc player I have avoided pretty much all the coverage of the game I possibly can. I can't wait now.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
Awesome.

So I should try San Andreas then?

Definitely. And check out the mod "Stuff To Do In San Andreas 'Till You're Dead". It's a new game plus sort of mod that adds a lot of cut missions and content from the original game.

Looks really great, the increased vehicle spawn distance seems very long, wanted that from GTA on PC for so long.

I'm kind of amazed by how good that looks. Really excited to play this on PC.

I heard a lot of complaints about GTA5, and while some of them are no doubt annoying even to a person like me that is a fan of the series, I am still very excited about this news.

It's not a perfect game by any means, and the online was a big disappointment, but it's still a whole lot of fun and absolutely worth picking up if you haven't.

I wonder what they'll do with online, whether they'll tie it to some ridiculous platform like Games for Windows Live

My guess is that it will be similar to the Max Payne 3 multiplayer. I am very excited for the PC release and have since gotten rid of my ps3 after beating the campaign twice.

While this is great news, it was kind of interesting to see what the PC GTA:IV modding community could bring over to the PC from the 360 GTA:V disc. I was curious just how much they'd be able to bring over.

Time to start saving up for a new video card.

Thank God. I bought the game for PS3 and played about half-way through single-player + loving around online. Only thing I could think was: "This is going to be a great PC game."

Did rockstar actually say the trailer was the PS4 version or is it wishful thinking from whoever made that image?

At the end of the trailer it says that all footage was captured from the ps4

I'm very hyped for the next-gen version. I'll have a PS4 by then (for Last of Us - I never had a PS3) so I'll have to choose between it and the PC, which is a good decision to have to make. I was just starting my second campaign run of the X360 version so I'll be canning that for now!

I'm hoping that the PS4 version runs just as well as PC as I feel like these games just beg to be played from a couch.

Cynics seem to think this could be marketing talk for "we played our CG trailer on a ps4" but who cares I'm buying GTA V again.

I know a couple pages back people were complaining about it, but I haven't bothered to play Vice City Stories yet and it's on PSN for £8 (little under $14). Is it worth even picking up at this point?

Yes. VCS is hands down, my favorite of the PS2 generation of games. It had just enough stuff taken from GTA:SA before making it too complicated (stats) and just enough improvements over GTA: LCS/VC to warrant a really enjoyable, tight experience. More 80's is always good too.

Phil Collins even plays himself, and you do missions for him and can see him in concert.

LCS is also a really good game. A better protagonist, more developed characters, and better mission design make it a much better game than GTA 3. I really hope R* winds up doing modernizations of those games at some point, they're really good and it sucks having to play them with the godawful PS2 control scheme.

Icenhancer recently released a 3.0 update for Grand Theft Auto IV. I recently put it all together under a 1.4 build to see how pretty things could get. I haven't played that much, yet, but its generally not super impressive. Cutscenes are butchered, of course (who really cares about playing Niko for the zillionth time), but it still suffers from an uncontrollable blur, poor shifting in color and shader filters and a god awful dark vignette during night, as if that's supposed to make me feel immersed.

Since GTA V still seems miles away, could anyone recommend some modifications to beautify the poo poo out of a non-LCS copy of GTA IV?

Are there some recommended mods for the PC version of GTA4? I've never been through the story, so it shouldn't butcher cutscenes. Mostly looking for bugfixes and whatnot, and graphical enhancements that don't break anything else/slow the game to a crawl.

As far as I remember, all the graphics mods can or will break things. Particularly the cut scenes. Maybe the texture mods won't be to bad, but could affect performance.

Save the mods for after the story.

This alone would've made VCS an objectively better game than Vice City, if not for the lovely PSP controls.

Ps2 port man. It plays the exact same as VC/SA/III on ps2 and had some bonus content and the addition of L2/R2 drive by controls.

I still haven't tried either stories game on psp, and LCS was given away for free, if I am not mistaken.
