Two questions. 1. Why did OKC do away with being able to rate people from the search screen? Sometimes I'll be on the search screen and want to rate someone I had looked at a while ago but hadn't rated at the time, so that in case they change their picture, and I no longer recognize them I wont keep revisiting if I have no interest. And 2. why do I randomly get visits from people in like Iceland who have low match percent with me? How are these people even finding my profile? It happens a few times a month, I just find it curious.

You should try it too, it's like going on your own personalized dating safari. Remember: look, but don't touch!

I apologize if this has been answered, but when a question is answered publicly, does that mean that anyone can read the answer on okcupid, or on the whole Internet, or what? Regardless of the answer, I don't see answering a question about how much I masturbate as something that would help me to find a future wife.

You can only see someone's answers to a question if you have both publicly answered it. So no non-members and nobody who's not willing to divulge the information themselves. However, they can see that you chose to answer it, so if someone really wanted to know how much you masturbate, it'd be possible for them to set up an account, visit your profile, find that question, and answer it themselves.

Thanks for the explanation. I think It's probably best to skip that one; I don't see how putting that out there would help me to make a physical or emotional connection with a woman.
