Yeah the seeing through disguises thing would be an okay idea for encouraging players to not do blatantly suspicious poo poo like stare at a guarded door waiting for the guard to leave his post, but the way they chose to use it instead is to basically force 47 to avoid people at all costs which renders the whole disguise thing pointless. I do think Contracts to a degree makes Absolution worth about , it is kinda fun, but last I checked the only way to find contracts is either look at featured ones (they seem to hardly ever change, if at all), have friends who make contracts (Good luck just happening to have 5 or so friends who make contracts I guess?) or wade through the 80% or so contracts that are just "kill first three people on map, leave by nearest exist, get easy money".Frankly the best move for Absolution would be to release a mod kit that lets you design levels and adjust things like how long it takes for an enemy to see through a disguise, then make a new DLC that adds every mission from BM to Absolution, sans disguise breaking. Then I would recommend Absolution plus that DLC to play Blood Money with higher res graphics. Plus with a good level designer I can see Contracts actually being really loving awesome. Alas I believe Absolution is basically done so 0 hope of that .

I didn't like having to constantly look at the map to get my information conveying that info through that vision mode was awesome. I also don't think every game needs to mimic Blood Money, especially after Blood Money sold only so-so

If you're going to overhaul the disguises system, make it context sensitive at least. So team of 6 guards: Why is that guy wearing Bill's clothes? But one cop in 100? No more than the odd raised eyebrow. I ordered the Hitman HD pack and this at the same time, and I'm getting a lot of mileage out of Silent Assassin right now.

Are there any mods or cheats out there that make this game not horrible? I can't even force myself to play through it in this state.

Absolution is $5 on Amazon right now, which is about as much as i'm willing to pay for this game. Man... Not even a year old and its already down to $5. How badly did they mess up this game?

I'm playing this game on PC with an Xbox controller and my biggest complaint is that it's nearly impossible to open a door if there's an item you can pick up in front of it. The same button opens the door and picks up items, and it seems like picking up items has precedence over opening doors. Several times during the game I've had to pick up an item near the door, walk away, drop it, then go back and open the door. If you're already holding an item, it adds one additional item drop away from the door just to open it. The older Hitman games had a system in place when there were multiple interactive objects near you, but for some reason this game can't handle it in doorways.

I get that on the 360 off and on; tap the button to open the door, hold it down to pick up the item.

To each his own. While Blood Money was a good game, I don't think I want to play another one. After playing with the controls and fluidity of Absolution, it is hard for me to go back to the old ones. They just play so clunky in comparison.

Too bad they put those "controls and fluidity" in dime a dozen linear asset tours instead of levels that are actually interesting. The mechanics are there but the level design post Chinatown just flies straight out the drat window. Goongrats for putting up with that garbage though.

Why did they get rid of the coin? You see it in cutscenes here and there. I just want to throw it around so I can stab people dressed as a ronin dude.

It's really unfortunate that several of the big open experimental "classic" level designs are sandwiched in between linear sneaking areas. I want to go back and play around in that lab area with all of the scientists, but it's after an area with some really tedious sneaking if I remember correctly. So far it seems like there's only been two classic open areas, Chinatown and Streets of Hope. I'm not through the game yet, just got to the Courthouse, but I hope there are a few more open areas before this game ends.

You can also play a Contract that just takes place in one map of one level. So like if you really liked the part of the Chicago level where 47 in on the train platform, you can play a Contract that just takes place on that one map. No idea if Contracts are being made still though. I've been meaning to try my hand at making them but I don't really know if anyone else plays Contracts still.

I understand the fact that you have to play the contract to make it but I feel it REALLY hamstrings contract creation. There are absolutely no concessions either, no good mode, gun selection, nothing to make it like some sort of legitimate developer tool. It made trying to make contracts a tedious, unfun, and pain in the rear end process. ![]() It makes it difficult to make a worthwhile, entertaining, interesting contract.
