I'll buck the trend and say that I enjoyed FF #6. I'm a huge Cosmic Marvel fan, and it was good to see the Inhumans back and Black Bolt in particular back. Fake Edit: And I guess it's kind of full circle, as the Inhumans first appeared in Fantastic Four back in the 60s. Roark fucked around with this message at Jul 26, 2011 around 16:30 |

Short version: 1) The Kree are an ancient alien race whose empire spans the galaxy. Because they're a huge empire, they tend to get into protracted wars with other races, such as the Skrulls. 2) The Kree do not possess the ability to mutate or evolve. Many of their enemies did, and the Kree wanted to have superpowered soldiers. They'd heard stories about how the Celestials went around loving with species, creating Eternals and Deviants. So their ruler The Supreme Intelligence (which is an organic AI that assimilates the brains of all of Kree's Best Minds after they die) commissions his people to go around to primitive races and start experimenting with those races, to see if they can raise super soldiers. 3) They succeed. The Inhumans are one example of this experiment. The Universal Inhumans are new to Hickman's run, but they're just "other planets where they did this" being introduced. 4) Eventually the Supreme Intelligence got blown up. Ronan the Accuser basically took over the Kree Empire, or what was left of it post-Annihilation. Then Cyclops's half-brother Vulcan took over the Shi'ar Empire and declared war on the Kree. Ronan, not being afraid of the prophecy/premonition the SI had, recruited the Inhumans to come assist the Kree against the Shi'ar. 5) This war effectively ends when Black Bolt and Vulcan both get sucked into the Fault, which was a big cosmic anomaly. Now the Earth Inhumans have returned to Earth, are presumably aware of the poo poo the Reeds are up to, and are going to join the War of Four Cities. Is that what people were confused about? You know d00gz and I are annotating this, right?

Slight correction. After/about the time the Supreme Intelligence was blown up and Ronan took charge, the Secret Invasion happened. Black Bolt was captured and turned into a weapon by the Skrulls. This final humiliation at being someone's pawn pissed off Black Bolt and he decided to activate all of his crazy brother's scream-based tech, packed up Attilan and forcibly conquered the Kree. There was minimum (if any) bloodshed and it resolved with them declaring that the rightful rulers of the Kree had come home and Ronan bowed before him, ending all hostility. Vulcan then heard that the Inhumans were both in charge and super awesome and provoked a war because that's what he does.

While I'd hate for them to bring back Johnny so fast, technically we don't really know if he actually died or not. The last time he was seen was just him getting dragged away by bugs. Everyone kind of jumped to the conclusion that he was dead.

I've always thought that Reed is Thing's best friend, but it kind of makes sense and is sort of cool that Johnny has taken that position as the years have gone by...

Reed may be Thing's best friend, but science is Reed's best friend. Might as well be bros with someone who'll actually hang out with you. Unless you want to chill with Dragon Man, I guess.

Dacap posted:I always kind of looked at the relationships like Reed and Ben were friends, but Ben and Johnny were like brothers. Yep, also Ben and Reed might have been best friends Reed has gotten more obsessed with science over the years. If he has trouble pulling himself away from science for his wife there is no way he would for Ben. So Ben and Johnny while at first got on each others nerves they soon became best friends. For Johnny the only person who comes close would be Peter.
