^burtle posted:#600 is really 8 bucks? loving really? It is 96 pages of new content, but yeah, that's rough on the wallet. I guess considering a 23 page comic might be 3.99, it's not that bad relatively speaking. My question is, when it's put out digitally, will it still be 7.99? That's harder for me to justify. Wouldn't you be happy if you got 36 pages in every $3 comic you bought? I know it seems like a lot, and it is, but if you're enjoying Hickman's FF, there's no reason to think you're not getting your money's worth bairfanx fucked around with this message at Nov 20, 2011 around 17:50 |

Yeah it would be one thing if it was a standard "giant-sized" issue that contains reprints or character guides and other filler like that, but 8 bucks for 96 new pages of FF content is fine by me.

Speaking of digital, will #600 have a same-day-as-paper digital release?

Here's to hoping then. I've been loving FF and is the only comic I physically buy because it's just that good but I really want to go all digital. Not sure I'll pick up both F4 and FF, though until I see how their stories are structured. I like the kids, but I'm going to have to set a budget before I realize I'm now probably about $50 a month on comics. I really should get off my rear end and buy an iPad too. Comixology on the iPhone is nice but I want that big screen felling

The Midniter posted:Can someone spoil the issue/give a recap about the major happenings? I can't find anything that explains how the Torch comes back or anything plot-related out there so far. Here's a recap, only spoilered because I think you should really just read it yourself. It's awesome. The war is a'happening. The heroes are repelling the Kree invasion of Earth. The Inhumans also decide to stay and fight the Kree. Kristoff mulls over letting Alt-Reed into Latveria. The Anti-Priest opens the Negative Zone gate to let Annihilus into the world. Supremor reveals he is interested in Inhuman genocide and also seems to maybe be mentally controlling Black Bolt. The kids escape Annihilus' soldiers and Spider-Man makes a last ditch effort to stop the portal from opening. He fails and when it opens the Human Torch is standing there with a defeated Annihilus. See, turns out that Storm was killed... over and over again, but was brought back to life to fight in Annihilus' gladiator pits (and in the hopes that he could re-open the portal). Medusa voices her reservations about the Universal Inhumans to Black Bolt, who essentially says to just roll with it. In a flashback, Galactus gives Reed a device to summon him if Earth is in danger. Earth cannot be destroyed because the Asgardians hid a Galactus Seed there, and if it's destroyed then another Galactus will spawn which will hasten the end of the universe. Galactus also has knowledge of Franklin's revitalized powers and reveals this to Reed and Sue. Turns out, Frank's powers are on full-blast and Leech can control his powers now, too. He's been creating universes and getting trained by a mysterious figure who claims to be his biggest fan. He decides to maybe be the best hero ever. The end. Damned good.

Great issue all around. Anyone else thinking that the mystery character in the Franklin Richards story might be Michaelangelo from Hickman's SHIELD? I expect some of his SHIELD stuff will play a part in his FF stuff before too long.

I just assumed blankman was future Franklin, but the Michelangelo thing would be awesome too. Though it would be a bit out of left field for those not reading Shield... Anyway, great issue, totally worth the $8. As far as unresolved plot lines, it's all coming together now, so I think we'll see more wrapped up soon. I'm enjoying the ride regardless. I hope Hickman stays on the FF titles for the long term.

I'm very happy that Black Bolt isn't all pimping and still only loves Medusa. It was weird to see him with all those other women and the two of them act like it was no big deal.

Hoping Hickman wouldn't write himself in. Still going with the obvious choice of adult Franklin or less likely, Michelangelo. I don't think Michelangelo would speak as written there though. Wild guess with absolutely no basis? The Beyonder. ... It's totally Franklin.

That said, it's future Franklin and I don't even know why this is a question. Future Franklin went back in time for this sole reason.

I haven't read the issue yet, so are we sure it's a male figure? Didn't Future Valerie say Franklin was her favourite hero, while this figure has said they're his greatest fan?

The figure has facial hair. I was right on about the issues A plot and wasn't disappointed in the least. It really hits that mythical nerve. Don't let the price deter you; It's worth every penny.

Something I really liked was how he was able to bring Johnny back without cheapening his death scene. I was a little worried it would be shades of death and return of Captain America which, to me, had an unsatisfying conclusion.
