I started actually reading comics with FF, which spilled over to most of Fear Itself. Sue is awesome in this. With that said, I have no loving clue what FF#06 was about.

So I was just re-reading some of the earlier comics and I just noticed that the last Richards (the one who talks with Annihilus and captures Doom) apparently has the infinity gauntlet? Isn't that sorta a big loving deal? He's shown wearing it in FF#3 when meeting with the Anti-Priest/Annihilus and then again when he fights Doom in FF#9 but then in Latveria (FF#10) he doesn't have it in one panel but then kinda does but it doesn't matter because he forms a tech-gauntlet/gun over it to confront Reed's father. Sooooo what's going on with that?

Here's to hoping then. I've been loving FF and is the only comic I physically buy because it's just that good but I really want to go all digital. Not sure I'll pick up both F4 and FF, though until I see how their stories are structured. I like the kids, but I'm going to have to set a budget before I realize I'm now probably about $50 a month on comics. I really should get off my rear end and buy an iPad too. Comixology on the iPhone is nice but I want that big screen felling

I'm still hoping that it is indeed the case and he goes "I already lost my mind once. I got better" but in an obviously classier and superior Doom way

F4#601 is out, it's loving awesome. Johnny especially. And between the end and the cover for #602, I have no loving clue how this is going to end. One things's for sure, this little mini-event has been more entertaining and enjoyable than the entirety of Fear Itself.

Given the stakes of what's going on, I think they're past the point of talking or trying to do anything but stop the loss of life. You have a Kree/Inhuman/Annihilation wave having a cluster-gently caress of a fight above Earth which is causing untold damage on the surface and now you have Galactus and Mad Celestials. The "let's try working out / minimize fighting" line got crossed a while ago. Not to mention their dynamics/way of thinking may have changed considerably (especially Sue) after Johnny's "death". He's only been back a couple of hours at most to them and it's been non-stop fighting since, they haven't had a chance to sit back and re-prioritize things.

muscles like this? posted:I think she was just letting him know that the only plan that will let them win involves his death. We get more of the conversation in this one but she still manages to sneak a whisper in there so she's planning something and was letting Doom know or told Doom something else that Dad Richards wasn't aware of. Hollis posted:That doesn't really seem to make sense for him to F4 before FF , cause FF happens before F4 it seems like...uh I think. F4's ending reveal wouldn't have as much of an impact if you knew what it was. It plays off better if you read Galactus' dialogue about "Reed Richards" being the problem and the celestials showing up then finding out exactly how poo poo went down with the other Reed, Doom, and Val/Kids since now everything is finally in play.

Quick question: how exactly did Galactus learn about the celestials / know to prepare for them? He called for the meeting on the Moon to give Reed the beacon but that means he knew then what was coming.

I am not exaggerating at all when I say that in the course of reading today's Fantastic Four issue, I had a moment of actual goosebumps (RISE!), later followed by tearing up a bit at another scene. When he first said Rise, I immediately thought Galactus. Then Nathaniel starts talking about his heralds and my mind went "wait Franklin's offering himself to Galactus as a hail Mary play? Noooo". Then the line "Franklin has had only one" essentially broke my brain The ending was gorgeous.

TwoPair mentions that he thought they'd bring back the dead Galactus. In parenthesis he comments he didn't think current was dead but seemed like he was) Burtle comments he wasn't dead, just hosed (talking about current Galactus presumed death). You thought he was talking about dead buried Galactus. I imagine this is a common issue in comics when there's more than one of the same. It was actually a third Galactus that happened to be sleeping nearby. (it was the current one. The NuWorld one was almost mummified I think)

Rhyno posted:So the other Galactus is still out there right? This is why I was confused earlier! Yeah I don't think Surfer or Galactus himself have dealt with it (aside from destroying NuWorld). Myrddin Emrys posted:I don't understand why Reed just assumes that that future is going to happen, since he is constantly changing the future anyway. I don't think he's assuming that particular future is going to happen. It's more a somber realization of how long of a life Ben will have since "curing him" was already explored and the one week a year is the best that could be done so even if in the far future they actually make a cure, it will be way past their lifetime. It's also interesting to note that bilogically Reed is still a mortal and not like his Ultimate universe counterpart who went through a millennia within The City without aging. Unless Reed died fighting someone and wasn't mentioned.
