If its not limited run they'd have to support it in store. This way they sell out of everything they have in a month and dont take their staff away from selling the 3 main box games.

They're a bit lacking in some areas, but they're fun. Fine if you're beerhammering, less so if you're serious tournament business.

I think ill be giving Dreadfleet a miss, as nice as it is. I do kick myself about missing Space Hulk because the models were gorgeous and the game itself pretty drat amazing. And it was all usable in other armies. But £70 for a standalone game and models used only for that is a bit much for me. Sad, really.

I was curious about this, and (assuming they're using the same double-injection molds as Island of Blood), the ship bases should generally be between 3" and 3.5" long. The IoB injection stubs were 14.5 cm apart, so that's where I'm getting this from:

It said somewhere that the ships, or their bases, are about 100mm, so like 4 inches. It looks like they're on the same size base as say a corpse cart or a boar chariot.

No, there's very much a DE ship. It's the one with the swordfish sword on the front.

So I wound up preordering. The game may be crap, but the models look too fun and interesting to pass up. Part of me is hoping the game is utter garbage so I can build the Empire ship in a bottle.

I don't know how true that is.
My local league has several Beastmen players, two of which have really nasty armies.
They're solidly competitive, and doombulls are bad rear end.

I could be wrong, I guess. The MoW black ark was a city on top of a dragon skull, I thought for sure they'd slim it down a bit for this. Since there's already two vampire counts ships (the ghost ship and the hulk), it seemed most reasonably to belong to the DE.

e:^^^ Compared to the old Black Ark, this thing is a size 0 in a girdle.

Well Black Arks were cities that were later magically made to float (To escape some sort of cataclysm, I forget what it was exactly), if one were to be portrayed properly it would be bigger than the board.

Yeah it's a bummer. GW can get away with charging a lot for its miniature game because they are the top dog, but in terms of board games they've been out of that market for almost twenty years not counting Blood Bowl and $115 is more than any other reputable company prices their premium games.

Space Hulk got a pass since it was an updated classic (and because people wanted the models to use in 40k) but this one seems like they are asking a lot in a market where they are not close to being the market leader.

What are the chances of getting a goon to order this for me and then post it to me in Australia? Because gently caress the $190 price tag on that. Ideally I would like two copies but I can't really justify it especially if I am getting it shipped internationally.

Yeah, it's not going to be cheap to ship. Not to mention that high-price items usually get a customs surcharge when entering a country (at least here and I'm pretty sure in the US as well)

Even if it all works out to be 100 quid it will be about $40 cheaper than buying it in Australia.

EDIT- I can get it posted from UK GW for $140. Thanks for the offer to post it for me, but it seems it will be much less hassle to just order it from GW UK. I didn't realise that they would still post to Aus. You don't get hit with taxes in Australia unless it is worth more than $1000 IIRC.

The Tomb Kings are an awfully fragmented, extremely decentalized faction. There's sure to be dozens of Princes and nobles low enough in the pecking order that they'd work with Vampires to get ahead.

Tomb Kings can't even be trusted allies with each other in 8th. And don't forget that Arkan the loving Black is technically part of the Tomb Kings faction.

Apparently they've shifted 40% of their stock in 2 days. I did see one guy buy 7 copies at my local gw though to be fair. Most will end up on ebay.
