This really could lead to a revolution if only 99.5% of the people in the world wouldn't immediately say "oh so I can't pay my mortgage with this? gently caress you." Thanks for the headsup and to know to avoid anyone who deals in BitCoins, though, I guess.

Dude's name is almost "Bernie von NutHouse" That's awesome.

Arkane posted:Can you short sell the market? Is there a comprehensive post that discussing trading? Considering the Senate is going to start tracking miners next week and collecting data, the only good move at this point is to sell. There are talks on the hill now of using RICO laws to prosecute anyone who has mined bitcoins as part of a criminal syndicate tied to silk road. I would honestly just sell all your bitcoins right now before the tracking mechanisms go into place next week. If lulzsec could find out what they found out, the government's not going to have much of a problem.

I see everyone's pumped about the rc helicopter so I won't rain on that parade, but just letting you know that the move into Australia under the notion that 'we don't need no stinkin' regulation' was indeed a bad bad bad move by tradehill. From my sources, I'd expect a swift response sometime this week. I'm hoping I can just keep this to this forum, though, I don't want any goon miners to get in trouble but don't really care about anyone else. Just my own personal advice from sources inside Australia is to get out pretty quickly, this'll be a huge blow that should cross overseas to the US. Just remember to keep this quiet, I wouldn't want this to get out and cause a run or anything.

Wait a second, did I just see that the trading value is down to 11.10? That's it for me, I'm cashing in now, I've got 6000 BTC to offload, it's been fun but it's time to let the old girl go.

That's why it's so important to sell immediately, if you don't sell immediately you could lose thousands of dollars. No dignity in staying on the sinking ship when there's no captain kids! Sell sell sell!

I Might Be Adam posted:The best part of this thread is when someone comes in asking for a brief summary of what's happened/explain bitcoin and I get enjoy all the different ways people can describe the stupid that is the history of libtard buttcoins. Funny thing is that it's like gold. All these libertarians invest so heavily in it thinking it'll be worth something if the dollar collapses, but gently caress that - if the dollar collapses, two bars of gold might buy you a loaf of bread. Tools and ammunition will be much more valuable simply because they're an item you can use. Gold is mostly a placeholder that became a currency standard based on society getting more pleasant and people wanting nice / fancy things. A society where people hide from coyotes in gas station restrooms isn't going to have much use for gold except to brain each other.
