「ブレストバーン!!」

Do the people working on these shows ever realize that シュート, despite sounding like shoot, means shot? Because that word comes up way too loving often to be misused as much as it has been in the first three episodes of the first series, and it's kind of painful to look at each and every time it happens.

I guess not. It continues to be used all the way into the third season of the first series and beyond. Keep in mind they also use "hissatsu" when referring to techniques instead of special or something.

God dammit. Leaving hissatsu untranslated is stupid, but it's the kind of stupid I'm used to. This on the other hand:

This is just pants on head retarded with no possible justification other than "hurf they said shooto rite?" And they say it a lot.

Maybe I've gotten used to shoot after 127 episodes of blitzball and 17+ episodes of Zeta blitzball. Too busy paying attention to the absurd cheesiness

Huh, The music was easily the second weakest thing about the first game (Besides the whole Occult Academy episode, yikes) for me.

18 and 19 are out.

Get them, least you have to sample the wife's cooking

I mean she had Kebabs with, what was those, even, Strawberry Mini Milks?!

As a side, I really want the anime ost now.

Despite Mitsuda doing the first series, I actually think GO's OST is better. It's strange because GO's composer, Terada Shiho, only had a remake of Astro Boy and the first collection Masaaki Endoh cover songs on her resume before GO.

Just finished watching 18 and 19.

Endou and his team are going to get screwed over so bad if that's the rebellion's plan of attack. For all we know, there might have been some crucial details omitted or they were all just straight up lied to. Of course, it might just be the Tiger & Bunny experience talking. Maybe there's going to be a third faction that wants to simply dismantle Fifth Sector and sweep its existence under a rug.

Marathonin' the last months' worth of episodes (18-21). A bunch of interesting stuff going on for sure. That new kid is interesting but I can't see where they're going with him just yet. He could be a Seed or just an rear end in a top hat who's been influenced by the way fifth sector's been running football into the ground, it could go ether way.

Good to have a match that isn't about Fifth Sector being rear end-hats for once.

I didn't think that they would actually have Shujii be Goenji. I thought that that was too obvious for Level-5. Though I am very curious what happened to make him like this in the last 10 years.

Also, Kageyama's descendant, and also probably Fubuki? gently caress yeah!

It would be even less than that, Remember he saved Tenma when he was a kid so whatever happened to turn him into grand high lord of the twats like this happened less than ten years ago.

I assumed that this happened during the Aliea Academy arc during the time where he wasn't part of the Raimon Eleven considering what he's wearing when he does so. I just don't remember the time frame too well.

Other things have happened and I've just caught up. The recent turn of events should be unsurprising, but I find it surprising nonetheless. loving Reiji Kageyama procreated with a member of the opposite sex? Okay not procreation, more like adoption, but I think he'd have done that a lot earlier with Luce.

I hope this means more Italians in the future.

And potentially explain their plans to the enemy? Fifth Sector is everyone, everywhere, every-time and I'm surprised it hasn't gone down to people being Kaji'd for enjoying football as a sport and not some bizarre performance art.

Well, I meant Inazuma Eleven original flavor more than go, but I doubt Fifth Sector will really care that much that Kidou is tailoring his training schedules to individual players. I mean, wasn't he doing basically the same thing at Teikoku?

Unfortunately I can only comment as far as episode 37 because that's as far as the subs go, but I think the best parts of this show happen when some of the old cast has a pep talk with the current characters. Gotta wonder how important Hijikata (I had to look his name up) was to Tenma when he got his inspiration. I'm pretty sure little Tenma played with Hijikata's younger siblings a whole lot back when he was still in Okinawa.

Actually, I hope the Raimon soccer team, or at least Tenma and a few other characters, take a field trip to Okinawa. It would lead into a nice introspective on Tenma and I'm entertained by the thought of his old Okinawan friends going "Holy poo poo, Tenma's back!" Then again, I don't know if Tenma stayed in Okinawa long enough to make friends. The chronology's all screwy in that respect.

mikeycp
Nov 24, 2010

Wow. I completely forgot that Tenma used to live in Okinawa.

Not sure how (immediately) important Hijikata is going to be though, since he's one of the only characters not confirmed to appear in Go at some point.

Oh hey new episodes aAAAAAA Ahahaha holy poo poo sometimes I forget this anime is about soccer.

And Tenma's been doing a great job developing into his own character. The way he loses focus and stumbles every now and then (way more than Endou did, that's for sure) really makes him feel human.

Still amazed at this thread's shelf life.

After months of procrastination in both this and school, I've finally caught up with this series. I really hope 46 and 47 aired as a one-hour special because I bet even school children would feel gypped about getting two weeks of recap.

As for the new series, Chrono Stone, Ending D was all I could think about during that first half. Hey, Alpha, I think Tenma's breakdown when you did that dick move was less "extraneous things leaving his brain" and more like a sudden surge of traumatic flashbacks back to when he was crushed by large wooden beams as a kindergartener. Or maybe it was the sight of a puppy pancake that was traumatic. It was one of the two, maybe both.

Dude's an rear end in a top hat, that's for sure.
