You shouldn't. That impulse to avoid reading their hateful posts? It's a good feeling, and you should go with it. However, some goons with stronger stomachs like to occasionally wade into the filth and pull out some sizable word turds to show each other and, maybe, to you too. It's fun, but it takes some getting used to. Like a drug addict you'll begin to get numb to it and will need higher and higher level of terrible posts to get that same rage rush!

The LA times want to tax the high income earners.

E.G. John Kerry, the wealthiest in Congress is invested in Muni Bonds (non-taxable). Warren Buffet does not get taxed on his wealth because it is mostly in unrealized capital gains.

The problem of a porous border that allows anyone to cross into the United States without any real resistance is obvious. I have seen the efforts to build a �fence.� What a waste of government money and time. A fence, ANY fence is only an obstacle for the one or two feet needed to get from one side to the other, by either going over, under, around or through the thin barrier. Regardless of what is built, it offers resistance ONLY at the point an illegal border crosser encounters the fence. Once across, their journey is again relatively effortless.

I watched a video where a man was talking about RETREATING 50 or 100 miles into America to escape the violence of the drug lords! If we are considering giving up a 100-mile wide strip of America, we can certainly dedicate a two or three mile strip of our border real estate to this idea!

I sent a letter to Sheriff Joe Arpaio some time ago, as well as a copy of this letter to Sheriff Arvin West of Texas, the New Mexico Sheriffs' and Police Association and the Sheriffs Association of Texas, illustrating my idea to use discarded tires to build a huge WALL along the border. This country has literally billions of discarded tires piled up around America, and we discard another 240 MILLION tires annually. These tire piles are always seen as a �problem.� I see them as not only a solution, but the BEST SOLUTION to the border problem!

I know that there are some problems inherent in the existence of a tire pile, but they are certainly no greater than the problems we are currently facing with countless deaths, kidnappings, drug smuggling, and everything else that is a REALITY given the pathetic excuse for a �fence� we now have and will never complete.

Imagine a wall of discarded tires along the border, two or three miles in width and 100 feet above ground level. Consider carefully the enclosed photos as you read further.

Before you summarily reject this concept, consider for a moment the FOLLOWING points.

* NO ONE can RUN across a tire pile. It is physically impossible! The tires will tip and roll, catch feet and collapse under the weight of any passersby. Anyone crossing something like this can easily be spotted and captured, using modified 4WD vehicles that use track systems similar to tanks or snow cats rather than conventional tires to drive over the pile as needed.

* The construction of a tire pile requires NO engineering, NO structural framework, and NO special equipment. Simply piling tires onto tires will eventually build a magnificent wall that is not one or two feet thick, but one or two MILES thick. Where the wall needs to be taller, simply add more tires.

* Tunneling can be eliminated if a trench is dug first, say � 50 feet deep. Fill the two-mile wide trench with tires, and then keep piling them up until the wall is sufficient to discourage even the most determined illegal border crosser.

* A wall of tires does not need to be maintained, painted, or repaired. There is no need for welders, painters, stone masons or carpenters. Even PRISONERS can loosely pile tires effectively! Vandalism to the wall by the illegals would not matter.

* Graffiti could be completely ignored, and would be little more than colorful spots along the wall of tires which would have NO flat surface for tagging.

* A wall that is impervious to damage and decay. If gunfire erupts, should the border patrol agents miss their target, the only thing they will hit � is a pile of TIRES.

* The pest �problem.� Tire piles retain rain water. They are normally seen as undesirable because they create breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Normally this would be a problem, but I see a two-mile wide tire wall infested with mosquitoes as a good deterrent to crossing over it, don�t you? Mosquito abatement can commence on the American side of the wall or by crop dusting the length of the wall if needed.

* Nature�s border guards. The wall could be populated with mice, rats and venomous snakes. The mice and rats would feed the snakes, and the illegals that still ignore our sovereignty and attempt unsuccessfully to cross over the wall will feed the snakes.

* FREE building materials! I am certain that if you call the governors of the other 49 states and tell them that you want all of their discarded tires, you will discover that they will be more than happy to gather up every tire pile within their state lines and transport them at their cost to our southern border, where you can arrange to distribute them as needed. They should not be stacked or neatly arranged. They should be randomly piled, as if dropped from the sky. This will make them far more difficult to cross on foot.

What about TIRE FIRES? Certainly, those wishing to cross our border illegally will try to wreak havoc by setting the tires on fire. That�s okay. A system can be devised using existing technology, so that these fires can be extinguished effectively wherever they are started. The foaming machines used at airports for fire resistance can be modified to belch out millions of cubic yards of an inert fire retardant where needed. Remember the volcano experiments from grammar school? Vinegar and baking soda create a very large quantity of liquid foam, very quickly. Machines capable of smothering large tire fires using a similar mixture of an environmentally friendly foam would work well.

We also have all of the water from the Colorado River that reaches the border! Now, I know there is some silly �treaty� that demands a certain amount of water be allowed to flow beyond our southern border in Mexico for their farming and ranching needs, and I am all for allowing that to continue on one condition. If the Mexicans are going to set the tire wall on fire, well gosh � I guess ALL of that water will have to be diverted to the fire through a piping system built along the American side to fight the fire. We would send a very clear message to the Mexican citizens. If you want OUR water, stop igniting OUR tires! When their crops begin to die, and they are all suffering from dehydration due to the water source from the Colorado River being diverted to reservoirs along the American border for fire fighting purposes, they will begin to understand the value of allowing the tire wall to exist undisturbed. If they complain about the water being shut off, tell them to stop invading our country!

You may be laughing. I am not. The problem of the illegal Mexicans crossing onto American soil is monumental. It is destroying our schools, our neighborhoods, our hospitals and our workforce. All of the �feel good� talk and toothless measures coming from the federal government are worthless. It is abundantly clear that the federal government has NO interest in controlling our border.

Unless you can come up with a better plan, a way to build a wall that can be built by people with NO construction skills, using FREE materials that require NO maintenance, that offers a formidable barrier that would challenge even the toughest U.S. Marine, I suggest you start piling tires along the border A.S.A.P. and finally put a stop to the problem of illegal aliens in America.

I am sending out a question to those living in Chicago or Suburban Chicago. My dad has Arab neighbors next door who has their address posted in Arabic (not numbers). Their son was kicked out of school for making a bomb threat.

Yesterday, I picked up my father at 2:00 PM and there were 10 cars in their driveway and along the street which was insanely bizarre. My family has lived there since 1990 far earlier than when they moved in and we never seen anything like that.

So I was suspicious and took a bunch of photos.

Tonight, there are 13 cars in the driveway, we took more pictures and I contacted the FBI after hearing this.

My father's plant manager said he has Arab neighbors who had a dozen cars parked last night which he had never seen before.

So I am trying to get the word out to Chicagoland FReepers to keep your eyes peeled. The media tells us to be on high alert since OBL has been dead. Well if this doesn't qualify as suspicious, nothing does.

I am not posting this to be racist, I am posting this because I fear there is a potential for terrorism in the Chicago area. If anyone else has noticed strange activity since the death of OBL please post here so I can pass word onto the FBI.

6. imho, There is no way that a sizeable group (12 or more) of Muslims anywhere in the USA is going to be without some serious Jihadi representation if not overt leadership and manipulations thereby.

7. imho, as a people, They are not near as inclined to be defense oriented as they are ATTACK oriented.

8. If it was workably convenient, I might try and network at least a handful of folks who were neighbors to such homes. Collectively keep tabs and keep each other informed. Anything markedly significant, report to a TRUSTED Law Enforcement Officer�preferably who was a genuine Christian.

9. Certainly keep a record of license plates etc.And a raw count. Doesn�t have to be exact but a raw mostly accurate count of the numbers of folks arriving and leaving in a short time frame.

10. Above all, PRAY EARNESTLY. Certainly for conversion and salvation of our enemies. But also wisdom and proaction against destructiveness for our side.

11. Let God arise and His enemies be scattered.

I hate seeing someone try to force a specific form of religious worship upon me and others under the threat of death.
I hate seeing someone try to force upon me a brutish and archaic form of law which doesn't hold me as an equal before the law.
I hate seeing someone dance with glee when devastating attacks occur on their presumed enemy.
I hate seeing someone who wishes to completely destroy other nations by driving them into the sea.
I hate seeing someone perform an honor killing for some perceived slight, believing it to be a form of justice and an honorable act.
I hate seeing someone who, in this day and age, would stone others to death, often without a trial.
I hate seeing someone indoctrinate young boys, warping them in the process from forever interacting with other societies, into believing that certain groups of people are "evil" and should be murdered outright.
I hate seeing someone perform clitorectomies (female genital mutilation) on young girls for no reason beyond religious dictates.
I hate seeing someone, under the dictates of their religious tomes, lie to anyone not of their religion.

And most of all I hate when somebody can't discern the difference between hating a person or group of people and hating the actions of people while being told sanctimoniously to get my own house in order.

So yes, Daisy, there is hate. And if Muslims, as a people, happen to fall into the category of the things I hate then they have only themselves to blame. Their actions dictate my response.
I'm sorry about that. It's just that I appear to have principals different from theirs.

Having a dictionary and internet search client nearby would be helpful when trying to keep your bearings, should you intend to descend into the abyss. Freepers look at logic and reason with scorn and disdain, so having those things handy, too, will be another advantage.

I live in Fresno, CA, home and birthplace of Freep, and an all around lovely place to live. I've never liked any of my ex's new boyfriends, and she likes me to meet them and give my opinion and let her know if I think they're a douchebag or not. Anyway, he pulls up in a beaten up Mustang, and the first thing I notice is that he looks kinda inbred. Now, my ex is a very pretty girl, so I thought "drat, dude lucked out". She introduces us, I shake his hand, and she says "He works with his dad. They run a website called Free Republic." I should have won a loving Oscar. I said "Oh" nonchalantly, as though I had no idea what it was and what they do on that internet, but internally, I flipped the gently caress out. My mind whirled. I stood up, and made a hasty excuse for having to leave, and as soon as I drove away, called everyone I knew who knew what Freep was. I felt so loving dirty for shaking his hand.

When I got home, I texted her, and asked her to call me when she was alone. She does, and I ask "Have you ever actually looked at that website they run?" She replies "Yeeeesss..." in the tone of a child being caught eating cookies before dinner. I said "So you know the kind of things they talk about on there?"

"Oh, he's not like that! He's a libertarian!"

"THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAY!", I replied.

I warned her that they were insane, dangerous people, probably on a few watch-lists, and that he's probably just as hosed up. She listened to my ranting, and seemed to mentally file it away. About a week later, my phone rings, and it's her. I knew what it was about. "You were right", was all she said after I said hello, and for the next few months he continued to stalk her, creating fake Facebook profiles and such. I don't know if he's still doing it or not.

Yes, black face paint sounds silly, and it most likely was. But I'm an boy with 50% Irish blood and am very white so I just randomly decided on using the face paint left over from the 2008 White Sox playoff game against Tampa.

I know people are thinking I am a nut. I have a degree in History, an MBA in Finance, I am a small business owner an have a very high IQ. The naysayers can't even comprehend how smart I am.

But to end this whole black face paint issue, when there are bright flood lights on all four sides of a home it was essential that I was in all black down to my very white face.

Whatever, criticize me, mock me, laugh, whatever! The FBI came in and the activity stopped!!! So what I did was potentially prevent an attack on my city! And I am drat proud of that!!!

No, they didn't move out. But it went from 13 cars in the driveway and street to one car in the driveway.

But that doesn't mean that myself and my neighbors saved Chicago. As some of the other IL FReepers can tell you we have been invaded over the last 15 years. A HUGE Mosque built in Bridgeview, IL and on Harlem Avenue all you see is stores with Arabic Writing in the store sign.

Then they build a giant Mosque looking eerily similar to the Dome in Jerusalem in another town. It is amazing to see what has happened over the last 15 years in Chicagoland. We are turning into Deerborn 2.

On the bright side the Pakistanis that were meeting on mass after OBL's death has completely stopped.

And it wasn't just me. The majority of the neighbors took action by calling local police and the FBI. The FBI acted and the cars disappeared so it looks like they need another safe house.

I got torn to shreds on another thread with a few folks making fun of this thread. I responded in spite and then asked the mods to delete those posts.

To the story of this entire thread. OBL dies a bunch of cars show up at a Pakastani household here in suburban Chicago. There was also another big meet up of Muslims in suburb neighboring mine witnessed by a friend who's neighbor's house the gathering occurred at.

I called the FBI and local police who showed up in big numbers and guess what the behavior not only there but in the neighboring suburb ceased!

I was called a nut, bi-polar, crazy, this and that. For the record I have two degrees including a MBA. Run a successful small business and worked for one of the most influential Republican women in the US House of Representatives.

That didn't quell the haters. They poured on me like salt on a fresh wound. Simply because I posted that I was using black face paint left over from a white sox game because the house had flood lights on all four sides and there were 13 cars making it very difficult to take pictures.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear. My number one goal regardless of where I am in society is protecting this country. When I signed up for this site 4 days after September 11th it mentioned patriotism...

Have we gone so far off the loop that, patriotism doesn't matter? Instead we mock a fellow FReeper on another thread without his knowledge until he is pinged by another FReeper. That is sad. I was told I needed to apologize.

I know that I did my due diligence. I spoke to the police, the FBI, the neighbors did the same. The Chicago FBI said WE ALL did the right thing.

Wake up America, Chicagoland has been invaded. In my town there is a Mosque that looks identical to the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.

To the American Idol Thread people I apologize I should have ignored the taunts and jokes. I am a 28 year old man and should have just let your jokes go above me. I was mad because Chicagoland has been invaded. Stores, house numbers are now in Arabic... The Chicagoland I was born in is not the Chicagoland I live in.

Finally, I want to let you all know and those who I have not pinged, I apologize if I missed ya. I was not the only FReeper involved in this incident as it occurred throughout Chicagoland. I am not going to say more to save that person's anonymity. But folks this ain't a joke!

We have people wanting to kill us. The government after 9/11 told us to be vigilant but if we can't express our views on a "safe" website for conservatives then where can we turn?

I shouldn't have been mocked for doing what I thought was in the best interest of myself, my family, my city and my country. You can cackle like witches about the black face paint, it was from a White Sox game in 2008 that I just randomly had in the laundry room. If that is the basis for your torment of me, then go see a psychiatrist.

If anything further occurs in this area of Chicagoland I will let you all know. I want to personally thank those of you who gave me your kind words through all of the bullying I received by a select few. I believe the Mods along with JR saw the bullying and that is why I am still here to post this.

Please, if you see something suspicious, call the FBI the FBI even under Eric Holder is acting. And if they are acting in Chicago you know they are acting throughout the country. The last thing Zero wants is another 9/11.

God Bless You All!!! I'm drained, I'm tired and worn. For those of you I pinged who genuinely hate me I hope you can go through this entire thread and have a different view of me. I've worked IL Politics since I was a kid working for conservative candidates. I'm not some random nut with a laptop. I've been here 10 years fighting for conservatism and fighting to save our country from radical jihadists who want to kill us or convert us.

For me, the fascinating thing about Freep as opposed to the fringe at Democratic Underground is that you see Freepish things creeping into mainstream politics, whereas the DU 9/11 Truther nuts get dismissed by politicians without a second thought.

As insane as these people are, people like them have been affecting the political discourse in a major way.
