Yeah, he did. I couldn't be happier with the result, makes it carry like an entirely new knife.

Guy's got a website here but he directs you to the forum thread here. That whole subforum is for his work, it looks like.

Pretty much this. I filled out the pdf he links in that thread and emailed it over to him. He's done leeks before so he didn't need it in hand to make the clip.

CountyComm stocks their breacher bars as well. Along with all sorts of other poo poo that you will convince yourself you need before you checkout.

I love how Cold Steel's main knife designer Andrew Demko has a youtube channel called "Kinfetests1." Must have been in a real rush to register that name?

More amusing is that "kinfetests" was already taken.

Used, or did you win that lottery thing he does on his blog? Good on him for having a loyal following, but I really wish he'd either mass-produce or license out the Prybaby XL. That was a drat awesome design, and I really regret losing mine (best as I can tell, out of checked luggage coming back from Canada).

I have a G3 Prybaby. Thing is awesome and incredibly useful, but I spent way too much on a keychain.

I also had a G3 Prybaby and I realized I can get a $25 swiss army knife that could easily replace it and be even more useful while taking up the same space. He goes a bit overboard by using s30v steel too. I wish he'd mass produce them with plain stainless steel.

The wrenches are the most useful part. He really does need to license the design or start making them in mass himself. s30v is complete overkill.

Well, I managed to loose my loving special edition Pardue 530 (). I'm thinking about picking up one of these Leeks to replace it. One thing I'm a little worried about is the handle: it looks too smooth to keep a good grip on. Can anyone say from experience if that's the case?

I have no problem with mine. It really isn't a hard use knife though. Get the non serrated blade.

Speaking of wharncliffe blades: I bought my dad a Kershaw Leek for fathers day and he loved it. I jokingly mentioned that I should have kept it for myself.

My birthday was 3 weeks ago and he got me a Leek... so gently caress yeah!

One problem though:
I went to put the blade lock on after cutting some rope and somehow noticed that the lock was beginning to bend/break. So when I got home I took apart the Leek real quick and sure enough, the little plastic piece that physically prevents the blade from opening was barely hanging there. I guess I may have shut the blade on the lock, or tried to open the blade while the lock was engaged, and that's what made it weak/break.

Should I just call Kershaw and ask them if they could send me the the little piece of plastic that attaches to the screw? I really don't feel like paying anything/waiting to send them knife to say "yep needs a piece of plastic" then send it back. I'll just roll with no lock if that's the case.

Yeah, you probably closed the blade on the lock. Don't bother replacing it. If you are carrying tip up the back of your pocket prevents the knife from opening anyway.

If anyone else is waiting for a ponyshoe knife, check your email for an update. Logan Pearce sent out an apology explaining that he's been completely swamped for a while now, but he thinks he'll get fully caught up in roughly the next two weeks.

The update & apology was nice, I just remembered the thing the other day and was wondering where the hell it was.

It's the TSA, so, yeah.

Yeah, I just emailed him the other day about my railroad spike knife and got that email too. I really like his style and he seems pretty sincere about getting all his orders filled. He has some cool stuff posted on facebook as well.

There are some great aftermarket options for G10 griptilian scales but they cost more than the $65 knife, which is ridiculous.

They make micarta scales that are gorgeous too, but yeah, between that and a decent pocket clip, it becomes an almost $250 knife.

I have a can of this stuff from work. Nontoxic so it won't kill you if you use the knife for food prep. I'm more concerned with lubrication than rust prevention though. Mineral oil will acomplish just about the same thing.

My knife from Pearce Knives finally shipped.

A million years later, I finally have it completed and shipped! Your tracking number is: {SNIP} @ usps.com. It might take a few hours for the tracking number to become active, but it is well on its way to you. I wish I could have finished it faster, but I honestly finished it as quickly as I possibly could. I thank you for your patience and support. Hopefully soon I will be able to be more available to reply to e-mails and calls, like I was able to a few months ago. lol, but for now I give you my best wishes and thanks. I hope you are having a great week!

Sincerely,

Logan Pearce

Yeah, hes absolutely swamped with work. I like a lot of his stuff though, I'll probably pick up one of those rasps once he works through the back log. I placed my order on January 29th. Definitely email him, he's always responded to me within a day or so.
