Well that was a sweet ending to a pretty okay episode. A bit weak if it was intended to be the finale had they not been renewed, but decent as a regular episode.

Okay. That was fantastic. Classic Futurama, with two seemingly unrelated plotlines that intertwine poignantly at the very end. And some good jokes, like Zoidberg take 3 steps to the right and Nibbler dressed as Tevye. Good. Goddamn. Episode.

Basically what Cardboard Box said - if that had really been the season finale I would have felt like they were a bit lacking, but it was a good episode altogether

It would have worked better if they had axed the video game opener and used that time to develop Leela's side of the story more.

I wish the rest of the Leela/Fry plot of this was as well developed as the last shot. It was like four scenes total. It hard to even call it a B-plot. It was kind of a disservice to have a scene as good as the last one be built up to so poorly. The res of the episode was okay, but not great. It really dragged badly in the middle.

This one was okay. I have no strong feelings one way or the other ![]() Not quite as many quotables as before, but it worked pretty well. The dumb kinect/sony lawquit-thing felt like it was going to be heavy handed but they didn't really dwell on it other than it advanced the plot, so that was pretty cool. I don't know, if that was the finale then I guess I would have just left the series on a big "meh" note, but at the same time I would have said it was pretty indicative of how I felt about the revival on the whole. A few great gems and mostly filler. I hope there are some great jokes in the books Bender was reading.

As a series finale, it would have been kind of a letdown. But as a season finale (which I know it isn't but story-wise, it pretty much is) it was pretty great. It was an above-average episode for the season that finally addressed and possibly advanced the Fry/Leela relationship everyone has been bitching about.Martytoof posted:This one was okay. I think the biggest problem this episode had was focusing too much on the Bender-Farnsworth-Cubert storyline. I think that should've just been the setup and B-plot, with Fry and Leela's thing taking the main stage. Throwing Mom and her sons into the mix felt tacked on. The episode had a good concept and some good gags, but the storytelling was a bit of a mess.

All I know is one of the books Bender looked through was "The Complete Simpsons Episode Guide." Also some bit of historical fiction called "I Conquered Your Planet." There, someone in this thread FINALLY did two things.

Honestly, even with the kind of forgettable episode attached to it, I'd take that ending for the series if I had to. That was pretty satisfying.

I agree, but it also kind of drives home that I'm not sure I want them to pick it up much further past the next season (or next two half seasons, whatever). Honestly five seasons and a handful of movies is pretty satisfying and I'd rather they cut the series while they're still in "a few hits and mostly blah" rather than see it devolve into "some okay episodes and mostly poo poo" like Simpsons did.
