Stymie posted:i was referring mostly to janeway, but there was 7 of 9 and b'elanna torres too janeway was okay if you imagine some stuff that was never shown about her basically curling up in a ball in her ready room and crying because of all the stress and then she mainlines some coffee before stepping out onto the bridge with perfect composure announcing her orders to do stuff that is really contradictory to her ideals as a federation captain and she only does it because the stress of the situation is breaking her as much as its breaking everyone else in the crew but for SOME REASON they decided to completely brush aside nearly every single issue with morale and supplies on a show about a ship stranded on the wrong side of the galaxy with no backup and completely out of its element b'elanna was okay, i really liked the episode where she tried to rewrite her baby seven was awesome in a lot of ways the doctor was still the best character imo

im the entire engineering department who cant figure out how to replicate a floor-mounted hologram emitter, an enclosure, an arduino, and some wheels and have to have some guy from the future do it for them

i watched the Trons. they're both kind of dumb, but the first one is technically interesting and legacy is pretty. best part of tron: legacy is the sound the arcade makes when the dude turns on the power.

the only bad part about legacy is that they show cgi jeff bridges in the opening scene having clu look like a cgi monstrosity actually ties in well with the other themes of the film

tron 1 was a neat showcase of 80s cgi tron 2 was a sweet music video and also olivia wilde is hot tron 3, better known as wreck-it ralph, was the best of them

yo has anyone else been watching ascension i wasn't really feeling it at the start but then it had just enough "wait, that's weird" to keep me going until the end of part 1, which totally blindsided me so now i will watch more of it i was wondering the whole time how they had gravity oriented along the long axis of the ship while not under thrust... guess that explains that!

ok I read the Quantum Thief and it was dope and started the Fractal Prince again. everything makes sense now. the story is still good and fun but I miss the Oubliette and Isidore
