To Say Nothing of the Dog is a big departure from Doomsday Book even though they're in the same universe. A bunch of britgoons in the book barn were sperging out about the historical accuracy of To Say Nothing of the Dog but well anyways Doomsday Book is great give it a whirl if you haven't already tho you prob have.

so i'm reading Gateway written in 1977 and absolutely loving that the author hasn't made (yet, only halfway through) any reference to computing. If it was Clarke he would have been absolutely wanking on about banks upon banks of valve tubes and hundreds of miles of wiring and tiny CRTs with incoming microwave transmissions coming in. so refreshing reading a scifi book written a respectable time ago that gets how to approach computing: don't

Best part about WWZ was the audiobook worst part was everything else. was reading one of max brooks' zombie fictions and had to put the book down after he explained zombie 6th sense shenanigans to "humans only use 10% of their brains" so i guess zombies tap into the rest rly makes u think really makes you think max brooks is a hack

Spin owned. The ending reminded me of the world of Hyperion, I understand Axis is considerably worse than the 2nd book and Vortex picks up a little. I can't see myself reading it after enjoying Spin so much, given Axis is a considerably different story. Next book I think will be Singularity Sky, this quote is just so unbelievably cool: Singularity Sky posted:I am the Eschaton. I am not your God.
