I also called the number on the cake, and if I recall left a voicemail, and never received a call. I didn't read any accounts of people with the phones getting phone calls. My mistake. Odd. I guess not every phone was used. That's a shame. (The number on the cake was the cell-phone inside it, so perhaps your phone was on silent or something. ) Not every game can go smoothly, I guess. I am bummed because I was ten seconds away from getting the Boston cake during that game. I made up for it at the scavenger hunt in March though. That was awesome. I still have the Joker card from it.

So the "numbers station" is just reciting coordinates to the different theaters? I punched a couple in and they just made the "Buy Tickets" window appear over theaters as though I'd clicked them.

Well I got the tickets, but then I realized that it was just for the prologue. Irvine is too far away for 6 minutes of footage.

Also, Joker has always been deformed in one way or the other. Sliced on smile instead of acid burns, whatever. Permawhite not being there is still a dumb choice, but whatever. Also, at least you could understand what Joker was saying when he spoke, which is apparently something you can't with Bane.

Why don't you reserve judgement until you see the movie (maybe even more than 6 minutes of it) before you start doom-saying the new Batman movie based on poo poo AICN posts. You'd think based on his oeuvre Nolan would get the benefit of the doubt from people but I guess not. I have absolutely no idea how this movie will turn out, but I can promise everyone here that I will not give my review until after I have seen the movie. I am simultaneously really excited for the trailer and the prologue, while also dreading the number of people in this thread who are going to start bashing the movie henceforth. They've barely had time to cool their heels from the principle photography, so it's not surprising that the sound mixing on this prologue segment is probably not even remotely finished (which is also what one of our reps basically said to CBR). I'd be highly surprised if they're that far into ADR yet. Even their golf carts don't have official stickers/production cards yet (but they do have printouts of dinosaurs with googly eyes which is pretty cute). Got my tickets for Universal Citywalk. Super stoked about the prologue and that whole "free" word attached to it. Axel Serenity fucked around with this message at Dec 10, 2011 around 03:22 |

To be fair he did let shaky-cam dominate fist-fights in Batman Begins and Christian Bale's horrible Bat-voice slide in the Dark Knight. The guy is a fantastic director and his teams have a higher batting average than almost anyone else I can think of working in live-action film these days, but his films aren't immaculate or prone to really obvious "how did that get past rehearsals/editing" choices in his movies. And I say that as someone who loved both flicks and thinks TDKR is going to be great.

Yeah, I'm sure they'll look into it now that so many of the reviews are saying that he's hard to hear. Nolan uses mostly production audio on his films, preferring not to rely on ADR, but this might be a case where that happens.

I'd just rather go into something expecting a poo poo sandwich and end up with something I really enjoy than vice versa. Nothing I've seen from DKR has gotten me excited in the slightest, so I'm keeping my expectations low. I really, really hope my gut feeling is wrong about it, but until the movie comes out, I'm going to stay in glass is half empty mode.

Briefly interrupting this Batman talk (the spoilered descriptions and return of another viral marketing campaign making me goddamn giddy again), after seeing Kiss Kiss Bang Bang last night I am a thousand percent more excited for Iron Man 3 than before - especially coming off the disappointment of IM2. Shane Black's style of writing banter seems perfect for RDJ, much more like it is in IM1 - only sharper and more clever. It's a good movie to see because of its own merits, but if you're ambivalent or skeptical about IM3, KKBB is worth checking out.
