I am really loving this; it reminds me a lot of something that might be in one of Kazu Kibuishi's Flight anthologies. Those greyscale panels of the 'Bad Birds' just about took my breath away. Can't wait to see more!

Speculation (don't answer, klaivu) the family house has been separated, with the mother in side and the father in the other. The painting above this bird's bed is going to be of our jaybird's mother, like the "Napoleon" bird earlier.

Saw this coming as soon as he stepped through that identical door. Writing fiction has made me hyper-aware of all possibilities.

This is still loving awesome, though.
