From comments about RIM.

Japanese phones are pure poo poo and are all about cramming as many retarded features into feature phones as possible, all of which seem to use a different, hideous proprietary OS.

I remember hearing about great Japanese phones used to be because every phone we got the US was poo poo, but I would have thought that belief would have ended around the same time the iPhone came out.

Before the iPhone came out and basically invented the "consumer smartphone" it kinda was true. The phones were still awful and had absolutely poo poo interfaces even for the time but they were still better than most Americaphones.

the easiest way to fix rim is to just can all their consumer garbage and hunker down in business phones until the end days

Not even, considering how they're getting replaced in the business market by loving iPhones now. Their best bet would be to mismanage the company into the ground and pray that Apple, Google, or MS buys them out.

Will their new QNX phones run android apps? They don't run old blackberry apps. Or work with BES.

the android apps don't even work that well on the playbook, though what does? they all suffer from even worse input lag than android has natively

it's weird because from what I've played with the BB playbook it's actually super responsive and somewhat okay hardware-wise but RIM had to loving ship it without half the features that you would expect with a tablet like a loving email client or, you know, any apps at all

verizon actually shipped us 5 of them at work to "test", they were all played with for about 15 minutes and never touched again

have they even added a native email client yet?

ahahahahah

what? the playbook is a broken piece of poo poo plagued with bugs that slows down as soon as you try and use half the features. if the battery drains all the way it is completely impossible to ever use the tablet again.
