So rumor that the Raiders are in negotiations with Jared Gaither, Ravens posters is he any good?

He definitely can be. He showed up last year way underweight with some nagging back injury that kept him out all season. It was sorta murky the whole time and I'm still not sure what the deal was, but there seemed to be some problems between him and Harbaugh. He also didn't want to be a RT.

Anyway if he's healthy and motivated he can be a very good LT. Great size. My analysis will surely be supplemented by more informed Ravens goons, but that's the gist.

I think that Free leaving is just not an option, the Bucs may gently caress Dallas' plans of signing as many players as they wanted, but Jerry will match them dollar for dollar until the Glazers remember they have a football team to run.

While I completely agree with this under normal circumstances, the wild card here is the cap situation. After recent cuts the Cowboys are barely under the new cap, so it'll be interesting to see how they pull it off.

Edit: well nevermind then

is my reaction to this. We have the safety depth to part ways with him safely. He's a thoroughly mediocre safety, whereas Poz is a somewhat above-average linebacker with durability issues.
Also unimpressed with signing Thiggy. I don't like the idea of having to completely change our offense in the event of Fitzpatrick getting hurt. Unless he actually learned something in Miahahahahaha. Yeah, right.

I really don't see a huge difference in the play style of Fitzpatrick to Thigpen. Both guys are pretty mobile, decent arm, ballsy as all hell and accuracy issues. I don't think they would be switching playing styles much at all if one was to go down.

Saw a few reports saying Poz signed for 7 or 7.5 mil a year for 6 years. Is he really worth that much?

No. If that's true, it couldn't be helped. Still sucks, because our linebacking corp is beyond awful.
Also, Fitz doesn't need a gimmick offense to play well. He can play under center and in shotgun comfortably. Can Thigpen do that yet?

So far it seems one thing hasn't changed with the new agreement: the numbers released after a signing are complete bullshit. They're inflated figures designed to make the agent look good and that the players will probably never reach.

related: Quinten Mikell got $28 million over 4 years. yeah, doubt it.

Goldson is pretty good. It looks as if Huff is all but gone and I can't imagine a team like the Colts, Chargers, Jets, Cowboys etc wouldn't use him. If we get Goldson it seems Tyvon Branch will stay at strong safety.

I wouldn't mind Jared Gaither, he's great when motivated but he's not playing LT over Jared Veldheer.

Colts lost Bob Sanders to the Chargers.

Melvin Bullit is a free agent, they haven't re-signed yet. Bullit was a backup capable of playing like a starter. Ken Hamlin is a free agent too.

Jaime Silva is another free agent safety the Colts should re-sign. Silva was a decent backup and good on special teams. Injury casualty from the great Defensive Back Plague of last year. I forget how many DBs were injured last year from the Colts, probably a PTSD coping mechanism.

So Basically Antoine Bethea and that's about it as far as the Colts safetys go. They might have signed some UDFAs but that's not someone I want starting as a safety.

I think the WR core is staying as-is with that signing, no Plaxicos coming here. Only way Leach walks is if we blow our wads in FA. They certainly seem to want to take care of everybody else first which isn't a good sign for his future.
