Colts re-signs kicker Adam Vinitieri and safety Melvin Bullitt to three-year deals.

Oh.

This is about as exciting as it gets!

Vinatieri was back to being automatic last year and showed some nice distance. Bullitt was a must-sign, though. I dunno if he's starting calibur for a full season, but he's a great backup and great ST guy. I still hope the Colts grab another S though.

Bullitt practically started the two seasons before last year when he landed on IR himself(along with every other DB than Antoine Bethea, who has to be some kind of goddamned robot), and he did a good job I thought.

If they get another safety it'll be for a backup. Bethea and Bullitt will be the starting combo.

Vinatieri, meh. Hope it's cheaper than his last contract was.

Wasn't he still under contract or an RFA though? I figured it was like a 100% he was back.

As for Vinatieri, he's 38?, but the kickoff rule change helps him a lot, so odds are it's a fine signing as long as it was uh, sub Olindo Mare.

No, Bullitt was an UFA after the CBA was agreed upon(last year was his fourth year I believe, I know it was *at least* his fourth year and he went to HS with Jacob Lacey). He was probably the most important signing to get done besides Peyton, especially with Sanders gone.

i was assuming it was more of a Torry Holt "we have a bunch of rookies, why don't we pay you to show them how training camp is done" situation.

Melvin Bullit said that the Texans had contacted him about coming down. Sounds like they are at least doing something in free agency but are the worst deal closers ever.

It wouldn't surprise me if Faulk is re-signed only to be put immediately on PUP, only to be activated in case of emergency.

At this point I don't even think Jonathan Joseph is a possibility. I hope you're ready for another thrilling season with Kareem Jackson as our #1 corner!

I'll always have a soft spot for the guy. Partially because he's (literally) always been our kicker and partially because he came to my elementary school to give out autographs. Cool dude.

Based on what? Nnamdi, Joseph, Cromartie are all still out there. Landry and Sensabaugh as well for safeties. It's hard to see the two guys just below Nnamdi signing before they have an idea of what his market value is and it's already been noted on NFLN that Cromartie is our target should Nnamdi not come good. Plenty of time...

AAA DOLFAN answered him, 'Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.'

Miami won't overpay for a running back. I have to think that's why they weren't involved with the DeAngelo Williams thing. That's WAY too much money for a running back who has (really exaggerated) injury concerns.

Ronnie Brown won't be back in Miami unless it's our last hope and he will take 2 years 6 million or something like that. Bradshaw will probably get something around 4-5 a year from Miami with 10 guaranteed.

Why, that would be Brandon Harris! And he gets the added benefit of leaning on Kareem Jackson for veteran leadership.

LaCanforna is saying that Houston is offering the most money to Scrabble but the Jets (and pretty much every media person) is trying to talk him into the Jets for less money to team up with Revis.

EDIT: Supposedly the Texans are offering in upwards of $16m a year.

Also I know how inept the FO has been! But the Texans are also one of the most media disciplined teams in the league. Just beacuse we aren't in Lombardi's (idiotic) tweets doesn't mean we aren't working. And I refuse this year to go into the season with a pre-concieved notion of failure.
