Probably keep holding down RT. Vollmer can play either side but we presumably drafted our LT of the future in Solder.

Seriously, I'm generally not a "team chemistry is everything" kind of guy, but Kreutz is the goddamn glue for that team. Yeah, he's not as good as he was five years ago, but he's still better than loving Chris Spencer, and he's been the leader in the locker room since forever. Obviously you have to move on eventually, but it needs to be in a way that's clearly planned out beforehand. Dropping a guy with Kreutz's stature in the way Jerry just did, that makes it seem like you'll cut anybody over a little bit of money, no matter how much the team needs him. It sends the worst possible message to the players - remember that guy you all rallied behind for your entire careers? gently caress that guy, he wanted to take a $1.3 million pay cut instead of a $1.8 million pay cut.

Like, I understand that they had to replace Kreutz eventually. But the way it went down suggests that Jerry Angelo (a) didn't have any plan beforehand, and (b) is a spiteful penny-pinching shithead who doesn't care about what's best for the team. Regardless of whether that's true (hint: it is) the players are going to get that message loud and clear.

Randy Moss might be willing to take a lesser role to play with Michael Vick on the offseason champions. I think he'd get more balls thrown his way than he did last year. He might be the #4 on paper, but he'd probably be the #1 or #2 in the red zone. Jackson still isn't in camp and may have durability issues. Maclin is still out with a mystery illness. It seems like it would be a perfect match to me. The Eagles don't usually like having backups who don't play special teams, but I think they could make an exception for Randy Moss.

I don't see why anyone with the cap space and even a minor WR need wouldn't take a shot at Moss. Obviously not if he wants too much money, but if he doesn't, well.. worst thing that happens is you cut your losses and go on with what you already had.

With a decent QB he can still be a VERY serious red zone threat, as well as divert your opponent's fastest CB and open up underneath routes.

That said, I am as always excited about our receiving corps. Please stay healthy this year, everyone. Jennings/Finley/Driver/Nelson/Jones is arguably one of the best WR/TE groups in the entire league.

From what I've heard, Gilberry added another 15-20 pounds during the lockout.

Nothing more than a message board rumor right now, but there is talk that Scott Pioli has been talking with Zach Miller agent over a possible 4-5 year contract and they were in the hunt for Jamaal Brown before he resigned with Washington.

I don't know if you mean this sarcastically, but Randy Moss is an ardent student of the game and does indeed have excellent football IQ, so to speak. Obviously it's hearsay but from what I've heard he is an excellent mentor to young WRs as well.

I'd want him in Green Bay if we weren't already very well set at receiver.

Michael Huff said that he had a deal with the Raiders done for a long time now and never even fielded any other calls from other teams. This leads most other Raiders Beat writers to believe that Miller's deal is also done which would explain his lack of activity on the open market. For some reason they don't bother to disclose this information

I was being serious, its just that football IQ has become a buzzword like playmaker or competitor in the NFL analyst vernacular.

That passing game is based mostly on timing so its not like he has to be running 4.32 or grabbing jump balls to be effective. He can also work the sidelines very well, which is what they do with Reggie Wayne often. Plus he has the size advantage to be an endzone threat.

They already signed Johnie Lee Higgins, he's definitely the #4 and kick returner. There really isn't any room for Moss.

Besides, Cooper was alright in limited play last year. He never should have been the target on a game-ending touchdown pass, but that was hardly his fault.
