Not a Skins fan, but there's been a lot of "More targets for Beck!" going around today.

Moss is a good resigning no matter what though I'd think.

Yeah at first I was a little concerned because I was pretty happy with Moss and Armstrong last year. But now I feel like they are just doing what they were doing in the draft and going for quantity, hopefully after the camps they will actually have a solid corp.

Just fix the loving offensive line. Please.

That's what it would seem like. Go to the Jets or Ravens or Packers or Eagles, Nnamdi. If you're thinking of signing with the Texans, Lions or another mid-level/bottom feeder team just stay in Oakland.

Also guys just because we have 14 WRs doesn't mean they're all going to make it. Think about this, 90 man TC rosters.

I consider 4 recievers to be total locks to make the roster, namely:

Moss, Hankerson, Armstrong, Gaffney. That leaves Banks, Malcom Kelly, Stallworth, Stokely, and a host of practice squad and scrubs fighting for 1 or possibly 2 spots. Shanahan is bringing some dudes in for veteran presence at camp and kicking the tires on others. Maybe some guys can fill in on special teams, too. I've been having fun with the "MORE WEAPONS FOR BECK" stuff, but honestly, if this was the Redskins of old we'd have signed Holmes and Rice already leaving no room for any other players. I'm generally pretty happy with our free agency thus far...but jesus, do we need a QB, so yeah. I still think we're gonna hop on the Vince JWG Young train tomorrow at 4pm.

Boy Skins fans sure are schizo. If they act sensibly and sign mid-range free agents at a value price, the fan mantra is 'why aren't we going after big names?!' Which is funny, because the mantra yesterday was 'oh god Snyder's going to throw ridiculous money at big names'

I admit this might have been my initial reaction, but I feel how quickly I realized and like what they have done lends me credit. That group of four WRs posted above, Gaffney, Moss, Armstrong and Hankerson, pleases me.

Ravens OLB Sergio Kindle (fractured skull) will not start training camp on the PUP list, a source tells the Baltimore Sun.

Really hope that he has been able to fully recover and not have any permanent issues. That is a really scary thing to have been through, and I hope that he will find some success this year in the NFL.

Not sure if anyone knows this, but what's the scoop on Vincent Jackson right now? If memory serves me he was given the franchise tag last year (to his dismay), and I have heard some talk that he might hold out if not given a long term deal. I have too much trouble wading through the bullshit on SD sports radio though.

It doesn't really matter anyways since your starting quarterback will either have the ball slip out of his hands every third time he winds up to throw or ignore an open target to sling the ball into triple coverage 40 yards downfield depending on who wins this 'competition'

Actually, Lucy, my trouble is football. I just don't understand it. Instead of feeling happy, I feel sort of let down.

Go Lions.

Lions re-signed John Wendling (S), Drew Stanton (QB), and Dave Rayner (PK).

I'm happy with all of those but Jim Schwartz needs to work his Titans voodoo and pull Tulloch away from the Eagles and Titans.

EDIT: The kicking job is still Hanson's if he's healthy enough, according to the team.

So do I, but I'm only gonna believe it when he takes a few hard hits in camp and isn't carted off the field.

Certainly I was sufficiently insecure to have felt the need to establish to my own satisfaction before the age of 33 whether or not humans can fly. If that makes me a chippy little autodidact in your eyes then so be it.

Philly papers are reporting that Kolb will not be at camp. It sounds like the deal may be done but that the Cardinals are still working out Kolb's contract extension.

I think if Cardinals fans don't like what they will give up in trade for Kolb, they're going to absolutely hate the contract he gets.

The Dolphins have dropped out of the running for Bradshaw's services, according to the Sun-Sentinel's Omar Kelly. Analysis: Apparently the Dolphins are unable to pay his price. Unless something changes in the near future, it looks like Bradshaw will head back to the Giants.

also longwell is back

Longwell has agreed to a multi-year contract with the Vikings, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings PK Ryan Longwell has agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth $12 million. The deal includes a $3.5 million in guarantees.

HITZ-HITZ-HITZ-HITZ

I'm somewhat pleased with what the Skins have been doing so far in free agency. Shanahan has mentioned before how he thinks the WR core is something that needs to be addressed immediately, and he's sticking to his guns and doing just that. I think the Stokely move was kinda dumb, but who knows? He might just be there to light a fire under someone's rear end in training camp. I know some of these guys are older, but young guys like Henkerson need time to develop and someone to help guide them. Especially since these rookies haven't even seen a practice field yet. If this was a normal season, Mike and the team would have met with and seriously evaluated all of the rookies, but they haven't gotten that chance this year. So maybe these older guys are insurance. Re-signing Moss was fantastic, too. That guy has been the only consistent offensive performer on the Skins since forever.

So far, the defensive pickups have been very good, I think. Cofield is a steal, and if Josh Wilson got serious PT on the Ravens, then he's probably pretty good.

I don't know who this Kellen guy is, but he probably stinks.

Just for the record, I really don't think getting Vince Young on this team is a good idea. He's a loving headcase and the last thing the Skins need is more drama.
