Is anyone getting strange flickering in Lion when they swipe between full screen apps? I'm getting some flicker, running on a Dell Ultrasharp monitor. Actually, a lot of flicker. When I switch via keyboard (i.e. "Move left/right a space" keyboard mapping, it doesn't flicker, but via trackpad, it does flicker.

I'm noticing that when I set a desktop background and switch to another space, the desktop background hasn't changed -- it's still using the old background. Anyone else?

So if you want apps that don't support Lion full screen yet to work with Lion, chpwn has come up with a hack.

I tried it, it works with some of my Cocoa apps, but not all of them behave correctly.

Twitter is hilarious in full screen.

The Finder just goes nuts in full screen.

On a bonus, Firefox, TextMate and Transmit all worked fine.

As well as Adobe Lightroom as long as I put it in a window before I launch it and don't use Lightroom's built in full screen mode.

This is pretty cool!

So apparently I had a bunch of items bought over a week or two ago not make it onto my iCloud purchased tab. When I try to explain it over e-mail, I get the response of "Well you can just transfer it from another computer ". Am I just getting poo poo support because it's still technically in beta? I just want to know that I don't have to be hyper-vigilant to make sure the system is working, especially when it's rolled out in the next few months.

Even in this day and age of no DRM and unlimited downloads, why is free still so much easier?

I recently bought an album on iTunes (my first), a track was missing from the download, and the album was missing from my Purchased page. I emailed support last weekend and they replied saying that they're looking into it.

If you click purchase on an album that you've already bought, do you get charged for it again?

Also what was the album you downloaded? I'm wondering if it was the same one.

I didn't understand the palm pinch/expand until I looked at the trackpad videos closely. I was trying too hard to actually 'pinch' the trackpad.

different resolutions and formats -- I'm no expert, but I feel like you'll have to reencode afterward.

Yeah I know, I want to reencode afterwards. I just can't find anything that will let me put files together without sitting through a long import process. I don't know if there is a specific term for "video editor that doesn't import the files" though so my searches aren't working out so well.

I don't know what the programs you have tried are doing when they import, but it's possible that they're re-encoding the videos into some standard format (maybe mpeg) so that they can be joined in the first place. Some formats won't even join with other files of the same format without choking, so this is a necessary step (as far as I know, I am not an expert).

If you want to try taking out the middle man that is the black-box-like import process, you can use ffmpegx to do the standard-encoding at highest quality in a format that allows for concatenation, concatenating the files, and then re-encoding them in whatever format is your desired end state.

Chiming in to say cron works for me too, but I upgraded from 10.6.

I'm really surprised to hear someone say that the Chrome UI feels out of place in Mac OS. It feels way better than Firefox on Mac to me.
