eSports Chaebol posted:Also consider how arrangements for b-teamers in Korea are probably already illegal under Korean labor laws, and certainly would be under American labor laws. It's something to think about I guess. It would probably be somewhere between child actors and child sports stars. I know there was a stink raised a few years ago because studios would film in Canada as producers try to escape US child labor laws. In Korea the government knows what esport is and has created esport laws in the past which seem to benefit children, so I would think if they thought the children were being mistreated something would be done. Just an example, they passed a law not allowing minors to play after midnight and those types of laws obviously don't exist in USA.

BRB MAKIN BACON posted:Korean esports infrastructure is very important. However it's a joke to state that their success has "nothing to do with their individual work ethic". Many foreigners who have gone to korea have not or could not keep up with their training work load. And it makes sense from an ROI perspective. Guy DeBorgore posted:Why do you think Koreans have a better work ethic than foreigners? Is it in their genes, maybe? Or is it "cultural"? I dunno, both those explanations sound a lil r-wordy... Winks posted:Based on your posts in this thread, this is a really, really funny post. I hope you realize why.
