After my highly effective betting last round it'll be nice to make other people lose money. (Though I'm definitely going to try my best. The last three have been stupendous you guys (the team behind this madness.) Thanks for continuing the butchery. I guess the moral here is insomnia is sometimes nice.

Whelp, I was going to just go in blind at 64 contestants and hope for the best, using a combination of things I've seen over the past three tournaments, but I guess if it's a single-elim 128-man. . . Strike the testing arena! (That formulae for combat makes my head hurt.)

Something I kept considering during the last tournament was a dual-spear ant woman. I'm almost tempted to give it a shot, but I suspect the results would be. . .well, messy.

So for example you don't buy a steel sword that never gets used. Those were my main concerns in the matter, meaning I'd get little-to-no active defensive ability. And I honestly don't know what the situation is there currently, so I couldn't say. Maybe Vox can tell us. . . Ben Mattock is ready to go. As many people seem to have, I'm going into this only with knowledge gained from past tournaments. I suspect this is going to lead to the terrible and bloody murder of a full half of all fighters. Go get 'em, boy.

You know, I've never really considered the issue until now, but it's a good thing DF doesn't model ones junk, as in the great tradition of the arena, I have leather armor and boots. . .and that's it. I'm going to go wince in sympathy for a few hours. V - A loin cloth isn't going to do much against a battleaxe either way you. . .slice it. I'm touched that someone placed money on Ben Mattock likely knowing nothing but his name. (Or that he's a minotaur, which is more likely.) I'm deeply sorry you'll never see your money again. Now to finally run some tests and see who to bet on.

I've gone ahead and bet on either; A. People with excellent names and less money on them than their opponent. B. Excessive long shots. I expect this to pay off big time. Excellent fights so far, though the first one-shot-kill being smaller V minotaur worries me. . . (Edited for multiple cases of I Am A Dumbass With No Memory.) Here's what may be a silly question; How much trouble would it be to modify attributes/raws/memory to allow for permanent injuries through-out a tourney? Not as in, say, if you loose a foot, you're done a foot. I don't think DF just allows you to magic someones foot off, but just a minor stat penalty or somesuch? It probably wouldn't make for very fun gameplay in a lot of cases, and there would be an excellent chance of one large fighter coming through relatively unscathed and ruining the final rounds, but it's something I've been thinking about.

I'm 2 for 5 as a result of betting on cool names and people with low bets on them as opposed to their opponent. That'll teach me. Looking forward to Vox running my match and calling me out for purchasing the wrong weapon material as my poor minotaur detective fails miserably. On the bright side, doing better then Synth.

Which uh, is quite a way to unhinge ones jaws, so I guess she had that going for her. Still, happy to win my first ever fight in the arena.
