I've been loving this entire scene with the shopkeeper lady. The line about Khajiit hearts and "I'd like to sell you this spear and I'm very sorry," got a big smile and Katia's kind of learning how to...well not haggle maybe, but I'm impressed she's made all these transactions without getting ripped off. Seems to have found an especially patient shopkeeper though, I'm sure that helps. Now lemme just go find some really weird porn and then see how my opinion of this strip is impacted on a reread.

Or does this mean that people watching porn/weird porn are getting katia advertisements, and only the former click on the katia advertisements?

I bought advertising on a Booru-style image board (like my own Fanart page), and I'm going to be getting some more. Images on most of these sites can be of various content ratings, and there will typically be ad displayed above/below the image. Because of how these sites work, each image on them has its own URL and will show up in my Referrers as one visit from that page, and the "average pages per session" for individuals from that page will show me how many pages were viewed by that person. This means I can see what image someone was looking at when they saw my ad and said "yes, I am going to click that". Then, I can see how many pages that person read before they left. I didn't actually realize I'd have this ability; I was trying out something completely different (I'll explain it some other time, I don't want to mess up the results). But, it's kind of neat seeing... well, I guess what sort of images are looked at by the sort of people who actually click banner ads. So, I just spend the last 3 days reading the whole comic and then this thread. I had quite a lot of fun with it. Reading a four year old thread is kind of interesting, since some of the early posters are long permabanned by now. But I kind of like how open and rational Kazerad seems to act. And that little cooking story was gross but quite entertaining. And the statistical datamining really intrigued me. While the thread was downright unreadable on some pages, I really had a great time. See you all in a few months.

In case anyone still cares, there was an update this morning. Along with a sidestory flash, an Indiegogo thing for merch, and another sidestory that automatically updates as the Indiegogo gets more money.

I found secrets in the sidestory flash. Here's what I've found: A.First off, you can temporarily escape the ghost in the first nightmare. This is done by: Luring the ghost onto the ship's helm, and while it's climbing up the stairs you can get around it via the other stairwell. There will be something even spookier at the front of the ship. B.Second, you can escape the hold that's being flooded in the second nightmare. This is done by(two following spoilers): B1.This requires some preparation. First, you need to investigate the dumbwaiter in the captain's quarters so that he tells you there's one leading to food storage(in the hold). Second, you have to check several specific crates amongst the ones in the hold, so that they contain needed items during the nightmare. Once you have this information, you escape the nightmare by: B2.First checking the door, which will make katia break the lockpick and decide to check the storage for something to destroy the door with. Then you have to go get a wand of greater fireball, which Katia will say is too dangerous to use by itself. After that you have to get a tube out of the dwarven ruin excavation crate, and finally you need to get a weight out of one of the crates near the scale (I forget which). C.I'm not sure if you have to complete both previous nightmares for this to happen, but the third nightmare will be completely different: C1.Instead of the crewmates eating Katia via the Wild Hunt, you wake up and find a tiny AKATOSH in the dream-hold. Also there's a khajiit hiding in the women's bathroom during the first(and maybe second) day. Gee, I wonder who that could be.

I can't even find out how to get Katia to go to sleep in the flash side adventure. I feel like I've interacted with every crate, box, barrel, chest, and living creature on board the ship, but she still says there's more to do before going to sleep.

Gee, I wonder who that could be. That's actually a bug! Every object you examine has an invisible NPC on it who narrates your thoughts to you. On that one, I accidentally left the NPC with a graphic. Since it was mostly hidden behind the curtain, I didn't notice until your post. I was at a Halloween party when I read your post, though, and the entire time I was worried other people would notice that half-concealed Khajiit ear and start madly theorizing about a second Khajiit hiding on the ship. Luckily, you seem to be the only person on the entire internet who saw it. Regardless, a fixed version should work its way through the caching soon. But, yeah, I know I say it all the time and across many sites, but sorry about the delay. Hopefully, this at least partially explains why I ran so far over my initial time estimate. I still want to post those riveting statistics on the relation between depravedness and ad-click-willingness, though I'm probably going to run more ads this month. I might as well get more data first.

I am absolutely sold on those t-shirts. I don't often care for merch that much, but that Katia shirt is just the right kind of stylised that I want it right now this second, and that's a rarity for me. So I guess later in the month I'll be putting down some cash for that one.
