I had no problem doing it with 30-something hacking skill on the hardest difficulty (I dunno if that has any effect on hacking though). Once you get a decent pattern for the hacking you can breeze through most of them.

So, I just saw this update on the E.Y.E. website:

Streum On Studio posted:

All Apologies

We are thankful to the players who bought E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy for their multiple feedbacks, either for the bug reports or for gameplay suggestions. We are considering all of them, and we are currently working to fix all the issues and bugs you have encountered so far.

We want to apologize for the bugs currently afflicting the game. We thought we had beta-tested the game well, but it turns out we were wrong. We're going to do everything we can to fix all the bugs as fast as possible.

To give you 3 examples of major changes that we are going to make: we have noticed the real end is way too hard to get, we're going to change that because several players found it too frustrating. We're also going to change the Resurector system that often breaks the gaming experience in its current version. Also, the NPCs will have their vision angle decreased to encourage stealth, which is currently too difficult.

We'd like to thank you for your patience.

The Streum On Studio's team.

While I certainly doubt they'll come anywhere close to fixing all of the bugs and glitches this game has, I'm very pleased that they're listening to player feedback and working on fixing most of the major issues.

No. The game resets you to the dream world every time you disconnect. It will just save your character.

It's co-op. It's not seamless drop-in and drop-out, you have to set up a specific co-op game. Your character is persistent between co-op and single-player, though.

Hacking tip: it looks like your attack stat totally doesn't matter, the last like 10 successful hacks I've done I've done while mostly at 0 attack and defense. Just use mask and the enemy will never do anything other than overflow, and you can usually time it so you can alternate mask and attack.

It matters if you're by yourself cuz it'll take forever if you don't boost your attack at least one to get an attack in... but yes you can slowly whittle away if you don't overflow.

I don't know how it is with dedi servers, but when you start up a listen server the first player (generally the host) to talk to Reno in the dream limbo world will set the campaign progress based on their own.

It depends what you consider creepy. The closest I've seen this game come to 'creepy' is dark environments with enemies that look like Doctor Zoidberg with glowing claws that moan loudly as they walk around so you always know when they're coming. Also you can summon NPC allies any time you want instantly from the very start of the game.

I've been able to successfully beat every single hack in the game so far with no points in Hacking using this strategy:
Mask
Mask
Mask
Scan
Overflow
Overflow
Overflow
Overflow
Overflow
...
Continue until your Attack stat is higher than their HP (The enemy will do nothing but spam Mask if you are spamming Overflow)
Attack

The attack kills them in one hit every time.

Not really. I had one point where I was swarmed by ugly rear end monsters but then I used my magic powers. Surreal is a better word for the feel of it though some levels have sort of a horror vibe. Definitely more surreal and futuristic though.

Definitely risky. I've done this before and all it takes is one random attack from the AI to finish you off even if you have full health. The AI is so... weird. It's predictable but also very randomly unpredictable at times too.

You are a titanic cybernetic monster with mental powers and the weakest pistol in the game fires 1000 rounds per minute. Your basic combat knife is a katana that can make things explode on impact.

The game is tense, but it's not creepy.

Speaking of this, how do you use sentry guns exactly? I was carrying around three and tried to deploy them to protect Dutch but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get them out of my inventory and into the world. Right-clicking them or dragging them off of the grid (like you would to drop a weapon) just makes them vanish without a trace.

Sentry Guns and Drones are deployed via the action menu (or the action wheel if you have them bound to it). Alternatively there may be a unset keybinding for them in the options screen.

Actually I wanted to chime in on your question again because I just thought of a better way of wording it.

The 'creepiest' part(s) of this game are when you're fording your way through some concrete shell of an abandoned city and you're not sure what's around the next corner - the closest thing I can compare it to is Shadowrun - if you've ever played Shadowrun for the Genesis, you'll remember desolate abandoned buildings full of mystery and monsters. It's more intense than creepy, and there are no scripted 'scares' in the game that I'm aware of (closest I can think of was the exploding wall in the tutorial).

You forgot the part where you jump off of a balcony, landing behind some looters with afros, let loose a massive, earth-shattering *BOOM* as you land, block their bullets with a sword that has an eyeball, summon a demon or something, and then jump back to the roof of the building as your pet crushes all.

The best part.

You know that dude in every action movie that talks mad poo poo but gets owned like a chump by the big bad monster who's standing in the shadows right behind him? That's every enemy in this game, and you're the monster.
