I had no problem doing it with 30-something hacking skill on the hardest difficulty (I dunno if that has any effect on hacking though). Once you get a decent pattern for the hacking you can breeze through most of them.

Ahh man, I was leaving the archives and there were 4 NPC's on the ramp/steps going back and forth so I decided to jump over them. I landed on one of their heads and apparently damaged them (I was in light armor ) and now they all turned and attacked me. I hit esc and disconnect (work early..) when I log back in, am I screwed?

I'm glad Streum On is listening to feedback, though for some inexplicable reason I feel bad that they got hounded for their whole buggy game. I hope whatever they do doesn't mess with the "I can just stand here and shoot respawning, ammo-dropping fuckers all day for brouzephs if I really wanted to" accessibility of this game. Also, has anyone figured out how to open more missions once you've unlocked "Bad Dream"? Morter fucked around with this message at Aug 2, 2011 around 00:07 |

I decided to pick this up cause it sounds hilariously awesome. I love low budget ambitious games and this seems like a great one. How does the multiplayer work though I haven't really heard anything beyond it exists.

Hacking tip: it looks like your attack stat totally doesn't matter, the last like 10 successful hacks I've done I've done while mostly at 0 attack and defense. Just use mask and the enemy will never do anything other than overflow, and you can usually time it so you can alternate mask and attack.

Also you can summon NPC allies any time you want instantly from the very start of the game. Honestly, I don't think this game is scary at all. None of the monster designs/noises are particularly spooky and so long as you can cast psi-clones or use a sentry/drone you're never truly alone.

I had one point where I was swarmed by ugly rear end monsters but then I used my magic powers. Surreal is a better word for the feel of it though some levels have sort of a horror vibe. Definitely more surreal and futuristic though.

I've done this before and all it takes is one random attack from the AI to finish you off even if you have full health. The AI is so... weird. It's predictable but also very randomly unpredictable at times too.

You are a titanic cybernetic monster with mental powers and the weakest pistol in the game fires 1000 rounds per minute. Your basic combat knife is a katana that can make things explode on impact. The game is tense, but it's not creepy.

I was carrying around three and tried to deploy them to protect Dutch but I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get them out of my inventory and into the world. Right-clicking them or dragging them off of the grid (like you would to drop a weapon) just makes them vanish without a trace.

I just have no loving clue what's going on in this game. I talk to NPCs, and they go on and on about things I don't understand, then a triangle shows up and I go to it. If it's a thing, I press E next to it. If it's a dude with a speech bubble, I talk to him. If it's a dude without a speech bubble, I shoot him. This has gotten me through 2 or 3 levels so far.

Actually I wanted to chime in on your question again because I just thought of a better way of wording it. The 'creepiest' part(s) of this game are when you're fording your way through some concrete shell of an abandoned city and you're not sure what's around the next corner - the closest thing I can compare it to is Shadowrun - if you've ever played Shadowrun for the Genesis, you'll remember desolate abandoned buildings full of mystery and monsters. It's more intense than creepy, and there are no scripted 'scares' in the game that I'm aware of (closest I can think of was the exploding wall in the tutorial).

You forgot the part where you jump off of a balcony, landing behind some looters with afros, let loose a massive, earth-shattering *BOOM* as you land, block their bullets with a sword that has an eyeball, summon a demon or something, and then jump back to the roof of the building as your pet crushes all. The best part. You know that dude in every action movie that talks mad poo poo but gets owned like a chump by the big bad monster who's standing in the shadows right behind him? That's every enemy in this game, and you're the monster. Blunt Force Trauma fucked around with this message at Aug 2, 2011 around 01:27 |
