This is very vague but I have one. I used to play this computer game at school. Probably mid-90's. All I remember about it is you had to click the arrows to go through what I think was a mansion. You might have been a robot and you might have been looking for lost pieces of yourself. I was either looking for lost pieces of myself or I was looking for pieces to further me into the mansion. I can't remember what its called.

I gotta go, Julia - we got cows.

Two shows:

1) Animated cartoon, pretty sure it was only a Saturday morning type deal. Some kids were in an alternate dimension, and for some reason I remember music playing a (big?) role in this dimension. I also seem to remember some chubby blond kid with glasses that had spiky hair and a mullet. This would have been mid 1980s.

2) Live action show about two groups fighting each other in fancy space ships, shooting lasers at each other. You could buy their "ships" which also functioned as guns and you should shoot the TV screen with some sort of laser and kill the bad guys (think Duck Hunt). This was probably late 1980s.

edit: 'Kidd Video', and 'Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future'. Thanks, people!

GOOOOOOOOOOONS!

There was a book I got from the library when I was but a lad that was pretty loving weird. It had this kid, who loved video-games or something, maybe books, living on his aunt and uncle (maybe parents) farm. They raised chickens, so all they ate was chickens. Later, it turns out that the chickens were actually like space-aliens or something and they wanted to some vaguely evil stuff. There was one line from it that always stuck with me, because I remember it being really clever at the time to me. They were talking about how much this family eats chicken, and it said "They'd eat chicken à la king, chicken à la queen, and chicken à la singer formerly known as Prince".

I can't stop thinking about that book, and it's the strangest thing.

[e]: One more that I just remembered. It was this platformer on an early windows, maybe 95, maybe 3.0, something around there. Early. Anyways, it had this kid who was terrified of everything, and there were five levels you could choose from, each representing one of his fears. You'd have to find these spooky ghosts, but they'd turn out to just be regular people. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Or possibly the Bruce Coville's Book of Monsters/Book of Ghosts/Book of Nightmares/Book of Magic series? Some good stuff in there. The covers don't exactly match what you're describing, though?

Also, I just remember a game I played in the computer labs of Middle school in the late 90s. It was a very pixelated game that tried to teach you about simple machines. So you basically had to travel inside this cave and collect diamonds and gems in your cart, but you had to do so by putting a pulley and using fulcrums and or wheels and gears, things like that and punching in numbers corresponding to weight and things. If you were successful, then your cart rode up the ramp and back out.

Anyone else play this?

YES! That's the part I remember about the creepy school and the bell noise. Aw man that is just great, thank you.

The part about Brit/Aus kids and the mosquitoes in the car must have been from something else and I just combined them over time. Though i still remember a group of foreign kids and an evil plot involving bad bugs from a show nick.

Another one I remember is an episode from an old sci fi tv show. What I remember is that it was an old show, 50s or 60s, in black and white. I've looked at both Twilight Zone and Outer Limits as those are the big two of the old sci fi shows, and I can't seem to find the episode I remember. The scene that stayed with me was about two bright white aliens on a road stopping a car. They glowed white and confronted a group of men. That's about all I remember cause the aliens scared the crap out of me. I only watched for a bit before I had to look away and I would kill to know what the aliens really looked like to scare me as much as they did. The only reason I remembered that scene was because I kept telling myself to forget the aliens, which of course made them stick with me for years.

There's this English show I remember watching in the early 1990s, but whenever I describe it to someone to see if they remember it they react like I hallucinated it. It involved some kind of evil woman after a set of magic spoons, and whenever she got hold of them the protagonist would throw something to her to make her drop them. It may have involved some kind of dimension jumping. I remember fancy looking sets.

A show I'm trying to identify:

I remember there was a gameshow where the contestants were couples. I only ever caught one episode. The host would ask some personal questions and one spouse was supposed to guess what their spouse would have answered.

I only remember one question where the couple was asked how often they had sex and the response that all the contestants could choose was either "sex every night" or "when the time's just right". I remember that one of the couples on this episode was black, and the husband's answer was "when the time's just right". (weird detail to remember)

There was also another question about showering behaviour or annoyances where it was revealed that one of the husbands would sing in the shower about "washing his willy".

There may have also been a segment where the husbands are paraded in front of a wall with holes and a bunch ladies (including the wife) stick their butts through and the husband has to grab and identify his wife. (though this last part could be false memory).

It had an 80s or early 90s feel to it.

What's the name of this song and what band recorded it? Probably some 70s-80s prog rock band. Sorry for the very short clip, but that's all I could find. The song is instrumental and the main theme is mostly lead guitar.

It was the theme for a Swedish kids show about a school in my town where they had an animal care program.

I've been trying to find an mtv commercial bumper from '94-'95, used to see it when watching Beavis & Butthead and videos. It was animated and an old (bald?) guy with a hook nose would usually be snoring away. Sometimes it would be clips from his life which sucked, and he'd sigh and say "This too shall pass" then sleep again. Google gets me nothing but the Ok Go song these days.

I've been searching for a segment from an after school type show for ages. I was reasonably certain it was Reading Rainbow and Levar Burton was showcasing a group of mummers preparing for a parade. Now I'm not so certain after all, since every search I've tried with Reading Rainbow, Levar, etc. has come up with nothing.

Anyway, the segment is hilarious, and the final high point is "the sardine dance" filmed at the parade. If anybody knows what I'm talking about and/or can find a vid of the sardine dance, I would be eternally grateful.

Oh man, three things.
First, there was a show, and I think it was all puppets. Late 90's? I feel like it takes place in a sort of.. lofty thing, that has a glass garage door? Outside I seem to remember a tunnel or hole in the wall of the property, and there may or may not have been a bird of sorts involved.

Secondly, another probably mid-late 90's. There were some adults, and probably more puppets, and I think they were in a tree house? It's not under the umbrella tree. They would go out on the balcony and there was some vines and stuff.

Last! A book. It didn't have a dust cover on it, but I remember it being red. It was about a sort of nerdy boy, and a pretty girl that he had to tutor or the other way around. I think they went up into the attic, and she started having..visions? I don't really know, she'd go back and forth, and at the end she was a witch and ended up getting burned alive.

I remember catching the endings of two episodes of a some horror/science fiction anthology show. One of them had an extremely greedy old man collecting debts on all the people he knows, and challenging their kids to find the papers in his intentionally-scary house. I think he goes to Hell in the end? The other episode finishes with a guy in the wild west who floats for some reason. Another man has set up a room so that a bladed fan on the ceiling will kill the guy when he lifts off. Does anyone remember this series? It might have been on FOX or SciFi.

I have a puppet related mystery movie of my own. When I was young we owned the VHS to a puppet movie (looked like Jim Henson style Muppets) where there was a sick/dying puppet or something, and these kids wound up on this mystery island lost. It somehow involved sneaking into a giant's (he was a puppet too) house to get an elixir or some kind of device.

Ok, something from Sesame Street, in the early 90's. One of those musical segments that didn't have a storyline or anything, just music and various visuals. This one was very much like Koyaanisqatsi, and I know Phillip Glass composed music for Sesame Street. The visuals were things like clouds moving across the sky, satellites flying across the sky, city streets, that sort of thing. Some people on a Muppet forum discuss something very similar here. I did see Koyaanisqatsi several years back, and it seemed very familiar--but it was not the Sesame Street bit. I would love to find this, it has been on my mind for ages.

In return, have a blast from the past with The Geometry of Circles.
