Morpheus posted:So Devil Survivor 2 has the some drat irritating missions, and some 'awesome' one-hit KOs that will simply lose you a mission outright. The social aspect is pretty cool: spend time with people, warm up to them, and they get bonuses like resistances to certain elements and such. Is the game fully voiced like Overclocked? I realize it's a DS game, but they can't just go back and not do voices in the sequel. Edit:\/\/ Well, that sucks. I might just hold out for an Overclocked version. Also, I just cancelled my PS Vita Preorder and got a PSP + P3P. That along with Devil Survivor 2 will keep me busy well until the PSVita Slim/price drop comes out.

Well, I finally got through the first 7 days on DS:OC After I got a couple of Phantasma/Flight demons it was super easy to defeat Belberith and Babel. I didn't realize I had to use the power Babel was weak against. I got the overlord ending. I'm now moving on to the 8TH day and am now stuck where Amane fights against the Anti-Overlords god drat are the AI stupid. Twice now I've had a character that is not supposed to get killed die on their first encounter. I'm determined to get a final ending before DS2 comes out. I'll definately be replaying for another ending afterwards.

I'm wondering if P4: The Golden will even come out for the US. If the Vita sales are as low here as in Japan, there may not be much of a market for it. I'd love to see Persona on the 3DS, but that's probably not going to happen anytime soon. Also, the P4 Arena US localization could put the console story on one system while putting the arcade story on the other.

The cartridges are not locked, so you can import that way if you can find a copy for cheap. Using the online store requires you to remove the vita from your authorized devices, factory restore the vita, then login with the credentials from that region's store and another memory card. My only complaint so far after the first 30 minutes or so (which I get to replay thanks to an almost copy paste "protect Haru" mission and forgetting to save.) is the re use of many areas from DS 1. I have only been in one new arena so far, but almost everything else is the same.

I'm on day 7 and at this point I'm changing my strategy to Devil Speed + Evil Wave to reach the main enemy. My Phys MC is having a real fun time with all the RF Phys characters and the number of enemy teams with Dragons/Viles(Seriously, gently caress Ronaldo.) Now I'm on the battle with Yamato and even though I can KO most teams in one hit, he is causing me real problems. My main problem is that I cannot grind anywhere. My MC is level 57 but most of the demons are mid to high 40s in free battle. Also, I missed fate linking three characters fully. Is that going to prevent me from getting a good ending? I finally got through the Kill Polaris ending, and I must say, it's a lot more depressing than the Nayoa ending from DS:Overclocked. I still prefer it over the True "Reset Button" Ending. Ronaldo and Yamato's endings were horrible both in their own way with Polaris changing mankind to be super helpful or super competitive.

The way I read Ronaldo's ending was "Everybody started helping one another, oh yeah we're too busy helping one another to do anything else" I suppose it's more the loss of freedom for happiness thing that makes me not like it. Most of the endings are up on Youtube (some emulated, some shaky cam) now if you don't want to go through all the stories.

3DS is selling 7 to 1 over Vita. There is a higher install base on that system. The 3D part of the 3DS is a gimmick, but it also has increased graphical power. Atlus hasn't made use of it other than a fancy 3D intro for DS:OC and Nintendo doesn't even require 3DS games to have 3D after their turnaround last year. At least the 3DS is cheaper than the Vita. Those of us wanting Persona 4 the golden are going to have to spend $300 just to get the game and console.

Sluitstripje posted:I've ordered both Devil Survivor games and lo and behold the second one will be arriving more then a week ahead of the first game. Now my question is will it be a problem if I played them out of order, not only for the plot but game play as well. Story wise there is no problem. There are no characters/plots that carry over between the games. DS1 is surviving a lockdown, DS2 is SMT:Evangelion. Gameplay wise there are a few changes. Most notable are: Demons learn moves differently. DS1 uses Magnetite(gained through fighting) to teach different moves, DS2 only lets you teach moves when fusing, but adds "Add Ons"(items gained while fighting) that let you change the demon being fused. An S-Link like system called the Fate system is used to change the outcome of the end of the game in DS2. Unless you got DS:Overclocked they also added a demon compendium for DS2 which lets you summon demons you had already fused. Also, you have more areas to explore in DS2. DS1 has you locked in Tokyo while in DS2 you get to explore other areas. Edit: Fixed description of Magnetite system Dehry fucked around with this message at 00:05 on Jul 11, 2012 |
