The most exciting piece of information regarding this film so far is hearing Scott say that he wants to scare the poo poo out of audiences, and the fact that all the horror aspects of the movie are successfully being kept a secret (so far anyways) is pretty awesome.

I can't remember the last time a horror film actually scared me and wasn't just gore and orchestral stings and other manufactured "scares", so I'm hoping he can actually pull this off. I haven't been a fan of Scott's for a long time, but this sounds so intriguing and so promising that I can't not look forward to it, albeit with some hesitation.

Edit: Those stills are VERY Alien.

Two shots: Third row, second column and fourth row, last column. I might be jumping to conclusions, but it's been mentioned in multiple set leaks and those certainly look like ears and a nose.
I didn't see it at first either, but on second glance, it's quite clear.

I thought the same thing too, but I agree she's probably just collapsing, and that shot is mid-collapse.

Wait, what?

I don't have much to add to the art design discussion right now, except that I have enough faith in Scott's sci-fi that I think everything is going to work a lot better in the film than it does in the stills. I could be wrong, obviously, but I've got a hunch.

Also that trailer is loving unbelievable. I got goosebumps the size of small mountains.

Another teaser for the trailer - this one says "in two days," so it was presumably supposed to be up tomorrow but got leaked early. More footage!

EDIT: YouTube

It's insane how excited this little bit of footage is making me. This film is going to own.

I'm not getting the idea that this takes place on LV-426. Isn't it possible that there is more than one ship that looks like that, if the Space Jockeys are an entire race? I guess it could be the same ship from Alien, and it certainly looks like it, but possibly not?

Either way, this looks loving incredible and I can't wait.

Wait, what?

The thing about Resurrection is that, even though it's completely bizarre and nothing like what one would expect from an Alien movie, I think it stands out much more than Alien3 did. Alien3 is downright forgettable compared to Resurrection, even if only because Resurrection is so batshit insane and different. It has memorable moments even if those moments stand out because you're like, "excuse me? This has no place in an Alien movie."

I like Resurrection, but I prefer to think of it as a mediocre Jeunet film rather than a lovely Alien film.

Alien 3's set design and general atmosphere was coherent and iconic.

I'm not in any way saying Resurrection is a better film than Alien 3, just that Resurrection is more memorable. That's not necessarily praise, though.

I just want to say that Holy poo poo! Those are huge! I hope Ridley surprises all of us,I'm seriously still confused, but so excited about what you see in the trailers.

I think there's a very good chance that the trailers aren't giving much at all away. They're probably showing the plot at its most basic, and I would guess much of it isn't in order. Every time I see the trailers, I see something new that makes me think this movie has a lot more to it than the trailers even suggest.

Goddamnit. To me, that Ridley Scott quote is just as bad as saying, "There's a crazy twist ending!" I don't want to think about the very loving end of the movie before it's even out. Going to try and forget I read that.

We can infer Alien drones are at least partly based on the species they came from based on the dog alien from Alien 3.

I checked the last few pages, and didn't see mention of this. Alex Jones talking about the "leaked" fake script to this movie and how it's a movie about the global elites belief system. A healthy dose of mixed with a movie I can't wait to see had me in stitches at work on Friday.

I love that he talks about Prometheus and ancient aliens for like six minutes, and then he's like, "so clearly you can see how this all ties into the global conspiracies. Be very afraid, and go see Prometheus, in theaters June 8th."

He really is. I haven't seen him in a role yet that he didn't completely own. There are a lot of really great actors around these days, but Fassbender is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

That video is also so haunting and beautiful. Something crazy is definitely going to go down with David in the film. You can't have an android in an Alien film that doesn't gently caress up one way or another.
