Sig just set the record, nice run. I'm watching WW in one window and Sigs in another, such a loving nerd.

UraniumAnchor, just wanted to say I've been enjoying listening to your video game music stream the last several days while the videos are converted. I really should put together my own library of 8-bit remixes one day.

Sig says he's never doing 70 star again. I guess it's time to move on to 120 star! ![]() EDIT: I was kidding, but I guess he's actually doing it.

It's pretty amazing how large the following for speedrunning has become over just the past 6 months. Cosmo is now averaging over 2k viewers and Sig can pull 3k on a good day. At some point they will run out of games to speedrun without wanting to blow their brains out though. May that day never come.

Cosmo flubbed the end boss fight, but still ended up with 5:32:01 As far as records for today: - sinister1 beat the Ninja Gaiden (NES) pacifist WR by like two seconds - Feasel apparently destroyed the Hydlide WR in his first console attempt - Siglemic got the 70 star SM64 record by 7 seconds - Cosmo yet again beat his own WW time by 90 seconds - Edit: Apparently Caracarn set a new FFX-2 single segment WR today, too Add to that list Garrison taking the Super Metroid any% record yesterday and it's been a pretty good couple of days for speedrunners. Shimrra Jamaane posted:Running ads with 3k viewers has got to be racking in some decent money. Eh. It's something like $3.50 per 1000 impressions or something like that? Factor in how many people have adblock (or how many of those three thousand viewers are people double-viewing with one muted, no-adblock browser) and it's not quite as much as you think. It's decent, but it isn't paying the bills by any measure.

True, but most of the big speed runners seem to be young adults still living at home . So it's one hell of a part time job.

Took a death in the Wind Temple but still 3 minutes ahead. Risking it all now with the water. 2900 viewers at almost 4 AM EST. And that's about it. He blew it with the water timing, loving up the trick like 3-4 times and forgot about the wind as well. He seems really close, though. Just a matter of putting it all together at this point.
