I just got the world record in Candy Box 2, and yes, I'm proud of myself. It may not be OoT or SM64, but the previous record was pretty fast to I'm happy I could optimize the route further. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfaHuby_2TM Sorry it's a bit blurry.

I wish I could tell you but I haven't played the original, I never heard of the game until the second one came out and only got hooked on that one. From what I can tell reading the original's wiki, it looks pretty similar. Buy weapons, defeat enemies and eventually take on the "developer" and collect enough pieces to open the candy box and win the game. The ascii art in CBox2 moves a bit more fluidly and there's more overworld map exploration options. I'm also not sure about this but I don't know if the first one is as "speedrunnable." There might be need for grinding and CBox2 has some fights that can be exploited to skip a lot of the game. edit: I dunno, hopefully someone else can come in and compare them better. Except then lazerlong caved to my pressure and did runs, beating my time by 11 seconds with one just 2 seconds slower than my sum of best splits

It got updated last night, now its a gigantic of bloated poo poo, crashes constantly and I can't even switch out of streams anymore.

Lakitu works pretty well (on Android, at least) - I bounce between it and the official Twitch app. Lakitu will send to a Chromecast too, which is neat.

You can skip random encounters but you're still stuck with boss exp unless you use the lucky jewel and roll the "wrong" choice after battle. If that happens then you zero out your money/exp gain. I'm going to assume the resets are because he messed up and got exp. Can't comment on the Twitch app, but in non-mobile news Livestreamer updated to 1.9 today. Some bug fixes and plugin changes, including an audio only twitch option. It still handles rtmp streams via rtmpdump though, so no nico support yet.

So after most fights there's only a 1/6 chance of being able to progress. At one point there's two fights in a row without a save between (Boomer & Exor), it ends up being a 1/18 chance to progress (1/2 * 1/3 * 1/3). So basically it's a dumb gimmick category.
