Arrow's running Donkey Kong '94 (the Game Boy one) now. If you haven't seen this game or his run in action you need to.

Gharbad the Weak posted:Anyone else think this thing would be better with a "Stream the game only" option? At least visually? I really don't need to see a guy with a controller and 5 guys resting their head on their hands. I don't mind that but I do wish they made the actual game screen size on the Super Game Boy (assuming that's how they're playing it on a TV) larger. The game itself is a bit hard to make out with the black border around it.

Man, furry drum circle needs to lay off the one-handed Mario 64 and round out the posting here once in awhile. In other news, Klaige finally achieved a submit-worthy run of John Morris-mode Castlevania: Bloodlines with a 31:41 run. Not as optimal as he was hoping for since he screwed up the TAS glitch with the rotating blade in stage 4 and had some rough parts in stage 5, but the near-perfect boss rush at the end rounded things out.

Keeping up the Castlevania hype, Funkdoc just got a 29:10 Japanese CV3 Sypha run. EDIT: He's just playing for bonus right now, 2nd loop on Alucard's route. He broke the game on Sunken City by killing the boss too fast for a cutscene to trigger. JP lightning balls are too good! EDIT 2: Tried finishing the boss off with the fire spell instead and it just made its head float at the bottom of the screen for eternity. iastudent fucked around with this message at 20:05 on Aug 18, 2011 |

After watching and following speedruns for so long, I'm finally tossing my hat into the ring with the Genesis version of Pit-Fighter. I've been tinkering at it on and off for awhile now but just got to the point where I can beat the game consistently. My current record is 16:19 but I can get it much closer to sub-16 with a bit of optimization, maybe even lower.

Just over 2 and a half hours into the run and he finally takes down Solvering, using nothing but 1hp wind cutter and meleeing him for 1-3 damage after he runs out of potions. I'm being serious when I say this is just about the biggest display of patience I've seen applied towards anything.
