I have a question, before I attempt it.

If I go past the edges of what my map has plotted, and craft a new map, will it start mapping the new area, or will it just be a duplicate of the map I already have?

I generated a world today and it ended up being about 99% ocean, with just a few tiny dots of islands. There are two amazing caves though, and I'd like to keep playing this world. I'm assuming that beyond the map there has to be some normal land, though, but I'll be continually lost of I can't have a map of it.

Figured that out, and wasted a compass doing it.

Stupid whole next map was nothing but water-world, too. I don't know how the hell I got a whole world of nothing but water with the sporadic tiny island, but it's worthless.

Assuming you spawned in the same place as me, right in the center of the map shot on the previous page (small isle, one tree and some bamboo or whatever it is), there's an island due east and slightly north. About one quarter of a map's distance away. There's a cave there, and when you go down far enough to start seeing lava, there's a bunch of wooden bridges or something down there. What are those?

Has any use been discovered for Magma Cream? I see it on the minecraft wiki, but there's no use listed.

Also, I've only made two new worlds since the update, but both had the same odd problem, unless it's not a problem and I'm just not aware.

In both worlds, traveling to either The Nether or The End both give me the same problem: When I get there, I'm on a tiny (maybe 10 blocks by 10 blocks) floating island, so if I want to get to the mainland, I have to make a bridge with dozens and dozens of blocks to get to the main area. I read somewhere that playing on "peaceful" mode causes you to make a bridge to the main part of the End, but I wasn't on peaceful on either of those worlds.

Of course, I just made a new world and got rid of my old ones, because I'm anal and hate seeing all those worlds to choose from while playing, so I don't have screenshots. In The End it wasn't a big deal, except if I died and went back the dragon would immediate come down and knock me off my bridge, but in The Nether it was a real pain because the island was always floating far above the rest, and making steps down is hard if not impossible. At least as far as I've found.

Is there any good reason to keep them separated? I threw all of them in one big pen for a daily grain orgy, and they seem to just be randomly popping out more than enough color variation.

Are pigs extra good at escaping? I have an escape-proof pen, and more than half of my piglets are either escaping or ceasing to exist. I haven't seen any babies wandering around the farm, but at one point I would up with one lone pig after breeding for days.

Is it possible turn a creative map into a regular play map?

I like getting a nice little homestead set up, and then exploring from there. I've been using INVedit to do so until now, but I'd love to make it easier.

Also, do animals migrate much? I decided I don't like the setup of my farm, so I just tore down all my fences. I figured that they'll still be around for a while, but I don't want to go out and explore and come back to find all my loose animals gone.

Did enemy mobs get harder to kill? I swear I don't remember zombies taking 4 hits from a diamond sword to kill, but now they do, apparently. Also, I used to be able to kill creepers before they exploded, but now I can barely.

Also I tamed a wolf today. He's very lively. I named him Roscoe Bixby because that's the first thing that came to mind.

Also also, there is a cow somehwere underground near my tower. It is always mooing when I go outside but there are no caves or holes or anything that a cow would have wandered into, and none of the tunnels I've explored have connected to or come close to this mystery area. There's just a cow chilling out in an underground bunker a few blocks beneath the grass and I can't figure out where, and it won't stop mooing.

Has the wolf AI changed at all? I haven't tried taming one since they were first introduced, because I tamed a whole pack, they followed me home and all immediately jumped into my fireplace.

Also, does anyone else occasionally find an animal that has fallen in a pit, and feel bad and dig out stairs for it to climb out?

Is anyone having weird shading problems since the update?

I guess it's shading; while walking around, blocks get a shade darker, and stay that way permanently. It happens with all blocks, but it's the most common in sand.

That would finally convince me to watch youtube videos of Minecraft.

So, playing TestCraft, I finally found the village.

I want to expand it quite a bit, eventually getting rid of their uggo houses and making them new ones. Are there any rules for houses other than a wood door?

Also, one of the existing houses had the only door buried under gravel, so the poor fellow inside had been trapped for god knows how long. Never seen that before.

If I just keep expanding a village, will the village boundaries keep expanding with it? Is there any point at which I can't keep expanding, and hoping for the villagers to keep reproducing?

I thought that the last update was supposed to make cats less annoying, but I've got a herd following me everywhere and it's made building watchtowers nearly impossible. They're constantly shoving me off and blocking my doorways and jumping into new window holes before I can put the glass in.

I honestly just don't understand how everyone has such huge framerate issues. I have whatever the cheapest computer at the store was about 4 years ago, and it has a GeForce 7100 in it. It's seriously a crap computer. HP.

But the game has always run pretty flawlessly for me, some how. I never have issues with running out of memory, and I only very occasionally get any lag at all, and only in odd situations, like falling off a really high cliff or something similar.

I guess maybe I'm just lucky?

Am I nuts in thinking that, at one time, a windmill was possible in minecraft? I would swear I remember seeing something about it.

I've been expanding the village in TestCraft, and by my best count I've gained almost a dozen villagers at this point. I'd just really like something large and moving for the center of the village.

How long does it take, after making acceptable new homes, for villagers to breed? I have only seen it happen once, when two fellas decided to make a tiny lumberjack, while on a stroll together along the beach.

I'm building up the village in TestCraft, and I'm having the same issue. I don't know how many villagers I have at this point, but three Golems have spawned by this point.

For some reason, they all run out of the city limits every morning, including the Golems, and just wander around the fields on the outskirts of town, so every time I start building a new house they all wander around it and make it hard to place blocks. They're worse than cats.

In the foreground of this picture, you'll see a 4-apartment building, and I'm pretty sure every drat villager sleeps in the apartments at night. If you look in the windows there's like a dozen in each room.

I'm playing for the first time in months, so there's been an update or two since I last played.

Did they change villager's behavior? In the past, I've always had success making a village and throwing a few villager eggs in it, and they've been happy, content and reproduced. Now, they stay a few days, then just slowly wander off. I've got through three tries.

I remember about the rules that no natural materials can be used, and the door have to be within so many blocks of each other.

If I can't get it to work, is there anything I can do to find where a naturally forming village is in my world, that I can expand upon? I've created a world that I really like, and would like to populate it.
