The best way to do this is with a monostable circuit. There are several designs here in the wiki that can be easily expanded.

Wave wand at switch, wave wand at door/piston. Now the switch activates the door/piston. Is there really no mod that does this?

Redpower has the wireless redstone stuff now. It is almost that easy.
