Yeah the overlooking of Punk's friendship with Austin and lack of self-awareness about that kinda puts a blemish on the otherwise hilarious Chris Brown thing.

It's kind of funny to me that the company you keep somehow negates who you are.

I think we all have a friend who either has done reprehensible things or is a complete rear end in a top hat but we're friends with them for other reasons. Austin and Punk are two very different people with very different interests but they are friends through admiration of professional wrestling. That doesn't mean Punk, or Austin for that matter, approves of everything one another is.

If this was Austin vs. Chris Brown it'd be one thing. It's not, though. This is about hitting women and the guy who called Chris Brown on it hasn't, to anyone's knowledge, hit a woman. People shouldn't forget that.
On one hand that's true, but if Chris Brown were to respond with "Seems like you're pretty buddy-buddy with Stone Cold" CM Punk would be pretty hard pressed to respond without looking like a dumbass or offending someone. I don't think Chris Brown is aware enough to even find or process any of that to use it, but it's still a little regretable when you're in the public sphere and things like that could easily be used against you. It's not a bad thing to call out Chris Brown for being an obvious piece of poo poo, but if you're a celebrity and you're friends with another celebrity who's a former wife-beater it might not be in your best interest to join in.

I mean I guess Punk could just respond with "It doesn't matter what other people do, it matters what you do" but it'd still be clarifying the fact that Punk calls out other people for issues that he overlooks amongst his own friends. It doesn't paint a very flattering picture for his argument, especially after that video call-out.

Brown is a wife beater who is still psychologically victimizing the woman he got charged for beating up.

Don't really see where Punk holds worse company.

Don't recall me or anyone else saying he does.

And yeah obviously WWE has no qualms with making a story out of this or using Stone Cold or Tyson or whatever. They're not exactly a classy company. I'm talking more along the lines of Punk's argument not carrying the same amount of weight if someone were to call him out on Austin. I like Austin, but he still did something really lovely and never actually went on the record apologizing for it, and if you're a guy who's friends with him going after another guy for the exact same thing it's not going to reflect on you as well as it should. That's all I'm saying.

Yeah I'll be honest, I'm never sure if dumb anime style drawings of wrestlers are lame or cool. Most of the time it's horrible and gross, but I can't hate a super deformed Wade Barrett feeding a way happy horse an ear of corn, especially when he obviously has ulterior motives

Chyna's not going in the HoF, she's ranted for years about how Vince and Hunter are trying to kill her and insinuated a ton of other things. They'll give her a nice little mention at the start of RAW or something and maybe she'll be acknowledged in some documentary alongside her problems but you're not gonna have someone come out and give a speech about her. What she was worth to the WWE or wrestling in general is no where near what she's worth to them as a liability.

Cinema Snob and Nostalgia Chick are the only ones I can stand every now and then and even then they can get grating. I think any sort of on-camera internet "reviewer" is going to get annoying eventually since they're basically free to gauge their own responses and standards and it's probably hard as poo poo to discern what is actual helpful criticism and what's just people being douchebags

And Omni I think that was the joke in the first place
