KitAlexHarrison posted:I'm beginning to lose my patience with Just Cause 2 as well. Having to do a thousand and one menial tasks to unlock the next mission is beyond tedious, especially when no individual thing I do seem to have any impact on the unlock bar. If you're working to unlock story missions, I don't think Just Cause 2 is for you.

The Dirty Burger posted:It's literally the perfect game, and I wonder how they hosed 5 up so bad I can't help but disagree here. Yes, it's an amazing game, but it's not perfect. Going back to aiming with the left stick threw me for a loop, and we all know the right way to aim in video games is with the right stick. Leon's Parkinson's aiming was a little too much. I don't remember it being that bad. The game doesn't have Move support, when it really should. If not because there aren't enough Move games worth playing out there, then because they've done motion controller support before. As for RE5, I don't think they hosed it up. What makes you say that?

Vanquish is indeed short. If you can pick it up on the cheap, go for it. Rather than flat out telling you to buy or skip RE5, I'll ask you this: do you want to play co-op RE4 that cuts most, if not all, of the campiness? As for LBP2, you say you already have LBP1, so give that a whirl for a bit. You should know whether you want the sequel after a few sets of levels.

Discount Viscount posted:You might also have fun with Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. Only do this if you can play it with him online. Local co-op is alright, but due to the nature of the game you'd have to stick close together all the time if you want the camera at an appropriate zoom. The maps are huge, and the game can get really tiny if you guys decide to go exploring separately.

Since no one else seems to want to be that guy, I will. Yes, Valkyria Chronicles is anime as gently caress. I'm the kind of person to harshly overreact to anime, and I still played the game. The gameplay is really, really good. Just do yourself a favor and skip everything that isn't a debriefing of your current mission.

omnibobb posted:vbC, have you tried the latest CoD? I know it's not exclusive, but it really shines on the PS3. In addition to this, I think you should totally get the Bioshock games. You've never played games until you play those!

Feenix, if you write at least two paragraphs on the proper preparation of, and eating etiquette of a gently caress-sandwich, I will give you the Starhawk code I have sitting around. I don't have PMs, so you'll have to post it here with your email address, or some other way for me to send a code to you. One of the inserts from Uncharted 3 will still work, right? I have no interest in the Starhawk beta, and it's not like I can enter the code to try and see if it works.

Someone is forgetting Star Wars: Battlefront. I would absolutely love it if someone picked up the alpha poo poo from Battlefront 3 and finished the job.

eightysixed posted:There's a lot of hate in this thread about Resident Evil 6. I don't think I agree. It's been pretty fun so far (full disclosure: I finished all of Leon's campaign and am have way through Chris's). Although the game is too dark if you put the settings where they want you to. I'm halfway between enjoying the game and hating it. The game can be fun, but there are some goofy things that detract from the fun. Since you said you finished Leon's campaign, maybe you'll remember one of the team being shoved into a blender, more or less, by one of the super zombies, and even though you're right next to them, you can't help them out. You can shoot, you can kick, but it doesn't help at all, and it makes no sense at all. The QTEs are also pretty awful in their own right. They go by way too quickly, especially considering that there are a fair amount of insta-death QTE failures. The one for climbing in particular is the bane of my existence.

eightysixed posted:I do remember that scene, and while somewhat cheesy, how does it detract? (I'm not white-knighting at all here, im generally curious It just bothers me on some crazy level that in every other situation with a zombie grapple, you can fix it with a quick press of the O button. Here, though, because it's more important dramatically to fight off the zombie, they decided to prevent your partner from using the quick fix button. I mean, my couch co-op pal was being grappled by that guy, and I didn't get an O prompt. I was able to physically kick the zombie and actually get vibration feedback, telling me that I was hitting the bastard. Gameplay inconsistencies! Maybe I'm just a spergy lunatic edit: On a quick note, your explanation of the climbing QTE makes perfect sense. Your button presses basically represent your hands grabbing the rope, so of course letting them both go would make you let go of the rope. liquidypoo fucked around with this message at Oct 16, 2012 around 00:43 |

Tumble was a pretty decent Move game on the PSN. It sounds ridiculous, but playing building blocks with the Move was surprisingly fun. Plus later on they pull out various material gimmicks, like sticky blocks.AngryBooch posted:Have you played all of the games that don't require a Move? Play those before you buy a Move. Am I seeing this right on the store? It looks like Dead Space 3 was put up early. Doesn't say anything about pre-purchasing, either. Just flat out says "full game" and has the 59.99 price and everything. VVV and miss out on all the stupid freebies from pre-ordering at a store? nah, man. nah. liquidypoo fucked around with this message at Jan 30, 2013 around 07:31 |

Edit: nevermind, I'm kind of stupid and the basic page is a little misleading. Once you hit the add to cart button, it tells you it's a pre-order. Samurai Sanders posted:I noticed that too, but it also says "releases March 26" on the top. I do wish that part was more prominent. For me, it doesn't even use the word "release." I was too busy searching for that or "preorder," and instead the date is just hidden in a line of text most people will skip over. Especially when they're getting excited and thinking they can download the game real quick. It seriously just looks like this: "PS3 | Full Game | 11.3GB | 03.26.2013 | (user ratings) | 2K Games" Granted, I should have seen that since it's right next to the file size, but it's still kinda sneaky. liquidypoo fucked around with this message at Mar 13, 2013 around 05:49 |
