But is it just a button pressing simulator (as we've seen in the demo) or is there something else to do in the game (levels as in God Of War)?

I was planning to buy it at full price because of the demo, now I'll have to wait when it's on PSN...

EDIT: talking about Asura.

Huh. Sounds interesting, but what exactly does he mean by that?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: It's got a vaguely interesting spin on the ATB system, some good multiplayer support, and a kind of neat build-your-own-village system, not to mention a whole lot of content to slog through. But it's also a very boring, very badly-written, plodding grind of a game.

And there is a distinct lack of trolls. :v:

I agree with everything that Stelas said, but I had fun in my first playthrough.

Not enough to sit into another one, though.

Sometimes an obnoxious packaging is just an obnoxious packaging.

Hoping here that it's not final and if it is, I hope it'll be cheap enough to justify that cover.

And it's not like that you can't print the regular game cover.

I wouldn't recommend it in the slightest. Almost the entirety of the game is watching cutscenes and responding to QTEs. Only a handful of the QTEs even do anything if you fail aside from affecting your score. The battles are pretty dull and repetitive, and as the guy above me said, you just fight until a bar fills up and then unleash your super attack to win (I'm not saying the attack makes it easier, I literally mean the fight will not end until you do this).

How representative of the full game is the demo? I mean, I played the demo, but all I've found about the game is that "like the demo, but longer", and I just can't believe that.

In retrospect, I have to say I avoided open world games in general because I strongly disliked GTAIII and up (I wasn't a huge fan of the GTAI/II either but I had fun with them as a kid). What a mistake, I still can't believe how good Just Cause 2 is. I loved Red Faction Guerilla when I finally gave it a chance thanks to keeping that Darksiders code. Red Dead Redemption was pretty fun also and Saints Row 2 was hilariously awesome. All that made me go back and give GTA IV a chance again and...I still don't get it. I feel like I love everything Rockstar touches that ISN'T Grand Theft Auto.

Go find GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas and do yourself a favor by playing those. EDIT: (unless I'm misreading this and you already played them?)

Yeah it's funny how that turned out, but by far the absolute worst game in the series was MW2, and since Activision got rid of those guys, the quality of COD games has increased significantly. It pretty much speaks for itself doesn't it?

I only played MW2 and MW3, but while I like the multiplayer of MW3 more (Infected and FFA Gunplay are awesome), I think the MW2's campaign was a better action movie than MW3's campaign.

MW3's special ops also didn't grab my attention as much MW2's did, so there's that too.

(By the way, I have a few stars remaining for the MW2 plat, if anyone wants to help me out, add me on HardDiskD and we can try to set something up. I don't have a mic, btw).

Also, I'm leery of the business model. It will be free to play, with like (If I read right) small charges built in. True microtransactions. Like maybe you earn this gun. Then you die. You lose the gun/gear when you die, and you need to buy packs of guns for like a quarter (real life money) a pack.

It's possible it could change, or I'm wrong, or it was misreported. It's also possible it could be JUST like that and be cool. But it does put me on alert as potentially dangerous territory.

I'm guessing they will go for the model EA is using for ME3 multiplayer: You must buy item packs to "advance" in the multiplayer using either in-game credits or microtransactions via the PSN store. Using credits is doable, but is very slow.

e2. I dunno if this counts as breaking anything because I'm sure it's by design, but up close, scouts will ~wreck~ enemy troops with headshots, at least Alicia did, which proves she is good for something. :v: I barely fielded scouts, but learned eventually that for troops that you can sneak up on or who don't fire during your movement phase [just snipers?], you can fairly easily kill them in one turn with headshots from the scout. There's one map in particular that I remember running Alicia around the border of, and she was killing a troop every turn by running RIGHT up on them, aiming at head, then whammo.

:psyduck: Are you mad? She can wreck the entire enemy team by herself when she unlocks all of her abilities, and she's not half bad otherwise. Plus, she gives you an extra CP.
