Question Mark Mound posted:I'm relieved that other people are having trouble with SotC compared to the original. Even the first 3 Colossi seemed to have me off balance while climbing a lot more than I remembered. The only one I had difficulty with was the first agile one who you need to scare with fire, for some reason he was able to charge me everytime I stood up, literally stunlocking me to death if he hit me even once. and the final colossi, who seemed a hell of a lot better at shooting giant bolts of energy than i remember! I couldn't get close to him even using cover at one point, his shots would reach me even when dive rolling. This has nothing to do with the general 'shakiness' though. I haven't noticed anything about that, though I dont really feel like ploughing through sotc on ps2 at the same time to look for differences.

A game I would recommend to anyone who likes third person action is Dead Space 2. After DS1, I literally played DS2 from beginning to end in one sitting - found it so intenseley engaging, and such a vast improvement over the first. It handles very well and has alot of nice improvements (more vividly colouful, the main character is fully voiced, increased weapon variety).

ImpAtom posted:I really don't get this. Does everyone in the world forget the scenes in MGS2 where Raiden got a sword, kung-fu fight ninjas, blocked bullets with his blade and had a battle with a dual-sword wielding doctor Octopus after fighting a bunch of giant robots? Or the sequel where he showed up as exactly the dude he is here and did ridiculous poo poo like beating up guys with a sword he holds in his teeth? What the hell did people expect from a game starring Raiden. Maybe almost everyone who replays MGS2 just does the Tanker section (short and sweet) because playing all the way to the end of Raiden's section (unless you are trying to get dog tags or 'the full experience') is mostly unbearable due to the cheesiness of the dialogue - so I could actually imagine that lots of people really do tend to forget the very end of the game. MUFFlNS posted:I'd love a directors cut of MGS4 but I'd hate for them to remove anything, I'd just want more stuff added in. I was really hoping Peace Walker would have the same sneaking mechanics as MGS4, but I guess that would be impossible on a PSP. Haven't seen this mentioned but I got an amazon email saying if you preorder the Syndicate Executive edition for PS3 (or Xbox360) you also get $20 Amazon credit as a code. The preorder is listed at $60. It looks like an interesting game, and will support 4 player coop from videos I've seen on youtube, but I haven't seen enough footage to get a good idea of what the set pieces and stuff are like yet - starbreeze make it look like a fast paced game (kills power your characters abilites). quote:Hi, The fine print is here.

Wildtortilla posted:I'm open to any suggestions because I'm not too familiar with everything the PS3 has to offer, I mainly got it to play Dark Souls. This is the thread for you. Also- -Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Arkham City (Asylum has some great moments and City is open world with lots of things to do more characters - DLC only though). -Read Dead Redemption (fun online play, I thought) -Metal Gear Solid HD, to complement MGS4. You can get MGS1 from the PSN store too (look up info on it first though I hear it is not quite the same?) -Resistance 3 (It has local co-op and online, great unique weapons, easy to get the hang of). -Skate 3 (nice big open world with lots of things to do tricks on, big park editor to make pretty much whatever you want, photo mode, you can download other designs and upload your own etc and these let you get more unlocks in the game - if you like a chill game get this). -Saints Row 3 (Im just putting this here because lots of people say Saints Row 3 I have never played any Saints Row games) -Demon's Souls (If you like Dark Souls you may as well play this too! You may dislike some of the differences, though it is nice to appreciate how it has progressed. It is still full of great challenges and amazing locations).
