Brightman posted:I got this from GameFly yesterday and I have to wholeheartedly agree. If R3 is Insomniac's apology for R2, then all is forgiven. It really doesn't even seem like the same company made the two games (which maybe their Raleigh studio was responsible for this one?). Although I suspect the campaign is much shorter than I'd like it to be, but it is quite amazing. This Resistance is from the main studio in Burbank. The Raleigh studio is working on the Ratchet and Clank game right now. I also fear that this may be a bit short unless when you get to New York there is hours more of gameplay from where I'm at and going into the tower making the wormhole.

Brightman posted:Yeah, I figured as much with the Studios. There were different people in charge though according to wikipedia, so that's probably why. I finished it earlier and zipped through it in 6 and half hours. Probably play through it on easy to get some of the trophies for the movies. Even though the game seems influenced by Half Life 2, I would say it ma it better.

SamBishop posted:Yeah, you've got more. New York and the bit beyond is easily the hardest part of the game. I hate that I did the guide for that game. I simply can't look at it anymore; I'm utterly disgusted by the sight of it. Hmmm... wasn't too much of a problem for me, but you were probably on a harder difficulty than me. I can understand it becoming a pain when where loving everything is either a) a rocket launching hybrid or b)one of those leaping hybrids with a sniper rifle (and not to mention the 3 stalkers and 2 goliaths up your rear end at the end of New York.) Sometimes I was amazed that I made it out alive and only once died in the same area twice (and that area wasn't the place it was just a little bit later on).

Loved all of the Jak and Daxter series and very happy to see this coming out. I remember getting this early I think since my father worked in the warehouse at a Circuit City. To be honest, the game wasn't too difficult to me. Even after a few years of playing it and coming back to it over this summer, I beat it with no problem. I don't know if you guys just suck at it. But yes there are some parts in Jak 2 that it can go gently caress itself. Especially in hero mode where you're on the turret and have to shoot down all of the Krimzon Guard on the drilling platform. I would have to use the Dark Jak cheat and kill everyone in the beginning to have a chance against the 30 Krimzon Guards that would surprise sex me. Speaking of great PS2 games, have any of you guys played Ratchet and Clank All 4 One. Was wondering how it holds up compared to the others, and wouldn't mind playing it with a couple other goons when I get it for christmas.

Tamagod Sushi posted:Is Crash Bandicot still a Sony character? Nope. When Naughty Dog and Insomniac jumped ship at Universal, Universal maintained the rights to Crash and Spyro. In some cases, those 2 aren't really Sony characters at all. They were only published via proxy to Sony until Universal went their own way in publishing. Now they're owned by Activision who I despise with a furious passion.

mitztronic posted:So, I just got a PS3 yesterday. I have Uncharted 1+2 coming in the mail (it got shipped separately, thanks newegg). I couldn't wait so I started playing Uncharted 3 (game owns, seriously). Should I pause my playthrough and play 1+2 when they come in? Any suggestions? I figured I'd just play 1+2 as if they were prequels. You can play Uncharted 3. You will only miss some of the relationships of mainly Drake and Elena. But if you do get 1 & 2, best if you play those first to get an idea of what Drake has been through. There will be a sort of spoiler once you get to Yemen I think. When you meet Elena, turn off the game immediately, it'll blow somewhat the endings for 1 & 2. Ninja edit: yeah that too about how much a huge improvement 2 & 3 are over 1 that you may get bored in 1.

Polite Tim posted:Really gutted this isn't Uncharted Racing though I'd be down for this... yeah I'm a racing fan. Honestly I would take searching something down in South America and running the DAKAR rally at the same time. Oh no Drake the Mayans warned us about the giant killer spiders so now it's a race to get away from them. Anyways, old article I found said TLoU was lot of ideas that were scrapped for a Jak and Daxter 4. Honestly I like that they did this instead of Jak 4. I think the problem with Jak 4 is that the only place it can go is being GTA, but without an annoying cousin calling you to bowl with you.

Feenix posted:Gran Turismo has lost all good will with me. Those are the two things that need the most work imo. I'm used to the UI, but it's so clunky and bad that it needs to make sense and not be like touch screen phone layouts. I have hope in the networking will be a bit better since they have made good gains online where at times 2 years ago, going 300 mph in Red Bulls would be jumpy as hell. Now we can at least race at high speed. Also come on Kaz make us flip over online, we can almost do that now. Who wouldn't like 16 people flying into the mountain turn in Trial Mountain and somersault over the finish line.
