![]() What a ridiculous picture. Hawaii Five-0 Season 2 premieres on 9/19/11. Mondays @ 10 pm Check out the season 1 thread for a quick rundown on the characters and premise. This show is AWESOME. Unfortunately, it doesn’t get a lot of in TVIV for whatever reason, but it’s a solid show with great chemistry among the characters and actors. The storylines are usually very good and prove to be worthy of 1 hour on your Mondays. Yes, they have some CSI type of gadgetry and technology, Steve is a SEAL ninja, Scott Caan is the same character in everything, but it works. The show does a good job of not dropping subtle plots and in the final episode of the first season, everything came to a full circle. What happened in season 1? Click here for CBS’ video recap of season 1. Where are the characters now? Main characters Steven "Steve" McGarrett: Got tased and framed for killing the governor by Wo Fat. Now under arrest. Daniel “Danno” Williams: Instead of meeting Rachel and Grace at the airport, he went back to rescue Steve and rest of Five-0. Chin Ho Kelly: Back on HPD and arrested Steve for killing the governor! Kono Kalakaua: Arrested after being identified in a line up by some old lady we saw during their HPD heist. Ended up turning in her badge and gun. Recurring characters Wo Fat: Main antagonist. Has ties everywhere and apparently always one step ahead of Steve. Governor Pat Jameson: DEAD. Killed by Wo Fat. Kamekona: Selling shaved ice somewhere. Also has a lot of guns for Steve. Rachel: Danny’s ex-wife, now abandoned at the airport after getting back together with Danny. Grace: Danny and Rachel’s daughter. Max Bergman: Medical examiner. Will be joining the cast a regular. Jenna Kaye: Ex-CIA analyst, now working with Five-0. Sang Min: Snakehead leader or something. New characters New governor: Richard T. Jones will be the new governor of Hawaii as Lt. Governor Sam Denning. The new guy: Lauren German will join the team as Lori Weston. She'll become a new team member to tabs on Steve and company per the new governor. Head of Hawaii IA: Tom Sizemore will be the guy on F-0’s rear end. Someone from Steve’s past: Terry O’Quinn will have a recurring role as Navy Seal Lt. Commander White who trained Steve. More! Greg Grunberg, Meredith Monroe, Autumn Reeser and Daniela Ruah are some of the guest stars that will be in season 2. H50 drinking game Take a shot every time: - Steve tackles someone. - Steve and Danno have a "bro" moment in the car. - Steve calls in a favor from the US military. - Steve says, "Book him, Danno." - Kono or Chin pulls CSI magic technology. Ton of red carpet pictures here Cheers.

Last season was awesome. Especially the finale. Can't wait for the new one. This isn't your typical CBS crime procedural. There's a good ongoing arc and the characters are all pretty drat well developed. Along with Nikita it was one of my favorites of the new shows last year.

I agree. This show was surprisingly good. I honestly didn't think it was going to be a show I was going to watch on a weekly basis but it's well worth it. I hope it can garner more attention.

I thought this was one of the better shows of last season. However I thought some of the middle shows where there was no arc development weren't really worth watching, but the last 5 or 6, after introducing Wo Fat were top notch entertainment.

I'm watching season 1 because of this thread and it's been really great so far. Interesting character, funny interactions and clever cases.

Holy heck. What a season premier. I was totally not expecting that ending. And Wo Fat would be a great terminator.

Good opener. I just hope they make the whole Wo Fat conspiracy grand and worth the investment. Also I hope they involve alot of lore instead of just 4 eps.

Hell of a premiere. Did not expect Kaye to be involved with Wo Fat at all.

The only thing that's a bit hard to swallow (besides McGarrett going all Rambo a few hours after being shivved) is Wo Fat doing his own dirty work. Seems he could've payed or blackmailed a guard to kill Hess (no more Masters, alas).

And disobeying him and letting McGarrett live so he could take out Wo Fat (and I'm sure Kaye probably relayed that part to him) probably made it pretty personal.

I thought statewide fugitive McGarrett just being let go and put back at the head of 5-O was a far bigger pill to swallow than any of that. It's ok though, Kono's still not back on the team because she's being investigated for impersonating a utility worker. And that's serious business. Nothing like minor legal scuffles such as the multiple assaults on medical and law enforcement and the prison escape by Steve McGarrett. No, really, why is Kono being investigated? The lady who picked her out of the line-up saw them breaking into the secret drug money locker, but all the money they took was mysteriously replaced and as far as Honolulu PD was concerned no crime happened.

Also Wo Fats bodyguard, the one they are using as shark bait... didn't he get shot a couple times while they were storming the boat? I guess he got better?

Deadpool posted:Yeah, I enjoyed him on The Sarah Connor Chronicles and was glad to see him here. Ahh, thank you, it was driving me crazy trying to remember who he was. Yeah, I really liked his character on TSCC. Great show, its so lovely its back. We went to Hawaii over the summer just because of this show (and Lost) and it was so great seeing all those beautiful places again. I don't watch the Emmys but this show definitely deserves one for cinematography. I was just blown away by Locke showing up, literally a spit take. Is he a re-occuring character or just one off? All they need now is Ben Linus to show up as Wo Fats boss! I thought it was a bit hilarious that the Lt Gov just re-instead 5-0 on the spot and declared McGarret innocent, I didn't know they had so much power. The obvious route now is that the (new) Gov is dirty and the Lt Gov works to bring him down, but I guess they could reverse it too. Did they explain in-show why Kono is on extended investigation but not the other 2? I don't remember end of season 1 that much, but seems a bit odd. And yeah the end was a kinda twist, just did not seem that believable but I guess it will drive the show a bit.

I think you have that a bit wrong. He was the Lt. Governor but now he's actually the Governor. At least that's what I picked up.

They should've had a bumbling incompetent be the Lt. Governor. The Governor from last season was already a pretty amusing parody of Linda Lingle and her corruption, they should've just gone the whole way and brought in a guy to parody the figurehead Duke Aiona, hand-picked to pander to Hawaiian voters and who didn't know actually know a single thing about politics. And I dunno, that ending twist, the facial language looked either like that chick's not that great of an actress trying to be sly, or they told her to put on her "under duress" face.

I'm not sure how I feel about Masi Oka being added to the main cast. He's all right when he's just being a weird medical examiner, but his appearance in the first episode just seemed to be "look! he's a nerd! isn't that funny?". It's going to get annoying if he starts talking about Star Trek and Dungeons and Dragons (or whatever) whenever he appears. Though I did like the fact that he owned a Volkswagen Thing. Aside from that, pretty good season opener. I do find it funny that McGarrett gets cleared of the murder and I guess that means all the other illegal stuff he did (breaking out of prison, assaulting EMTs and cops, stealing a police car) just gets excused.

That was good opener, so much poo poo happened. My favorite part was the blond Die Hard-reject of a villain, though. I can excuse them glossing over McGarret's stunts, but I do look forward to seeing the new Governor try to rein him in. Dunno if I liked the ending twist with the girl, but the stuff with the dad and Wo Fat has me hooked.

Dead Snoopy posted:So you can get over the fact that the hidden camera continued to record for a presumedly long amount of time post-McGarrett Sr.'s death but not how charges that hadn't been laid yet vanished? Magic camera technology is more believable than a whole slew of major felonies being ignored because the original felony turned out to be false. Hollywood doesn't understand a drat thing about technology, so the internet probably did it.

The camera is probably one of the more believable parts of the episode, what is wrong with you? With good enough compression, a reduced framerate, a large capacity (micro?)SD card and motion sensitive recording I bet you could get a very long time hidden video setup. The clock it was in was plugged in too, maybe it was getting power from the clock? This show is not LOST. Stop over analyzing it and like it for what it is.

Meh...I'm not chaffed by it but I was skeptical. It didn't detract from the show overall. I used to think that their use of Miscosoft Surface was some amazingly silly made up sci-fi, especially for a police procedural but then I was won over by the fact that it was real and now becoming cheaper.
