Any doubts I had about the lack of Nathan have gone, this is an absolutely brilliant episode.

Glad to see they're continuing the trend of having the mental cases on this show have very appropriate powers. Blondie couldn't get the drugs out of her handbag in time, now has power to stop time

She went out the back door, presumably (or she went out of the front door, and you go out the back door to smoke). Either way, she walked straight past Rudy's table and didn't turn back on herself. I'm not too convinced by the new powers so far, but it's probably just fear of change. e: Kelly as a rocket scientist is amazing, just not sure how they'll apply it. I'm expecting it to change pretty sharpish.

Am now debating what's the shitter superpower: lactokinesis, rocket-science-with-a-chav-accent or being able to genderswap yourself. So far, only Simons' procognitive ability seems even remotely useful as more than a one-episode joke. Rudys' power and the mental state it implies is as bleak as hell though, I'm impressed.

Timo posted:Any help from us foreigners of the crown? Quick description of people and powers? You mean to watch the episode? You don't need to know the background of the powers to watch this episode. Because they're all new this episode. Or do you just want spoilers? If so- Kelly- Literal Rocket Scientist (but no cleverer in general) Curtis- Can change into a girl and back at will Alisha- Can see out of other people's eyes, she doesn't even have to know where the other person is. Simon- Can see potential outcomes of certain situations? Maybe only if they'd be fatal? Also (spoiler for 'the rest of this series' preview) don't know why but I'm MASSIVE psyched for the idea of Curtis becoming a proper athlete under his female persona, don't know why it didn't click with me immediately that he'd do that. It's just a fantastic application of the power... Also, the new powers almost line up with the characters... Simon looking towards the future, Curtis happy with himself but wanting a new ID, Alisha's newfound empathy for others. I'm still expecting Kelly to change powers within the next couple of episodes.

Brilliant episode. Rudy is awesome, I don't know what some of you are thinking. He's not quite at the "Nathan who?" stage of replacement for me, but I like him way more than I expected to.Timo posted:Any help from us foreigners of the crown? Goddamn I'm so confused about Simon's continuity. Why does he have to be mask dude again? Doesn't mask dude just die in a random episode anyways, and Alisha has to burn his body?

I wasn't a fan of Rudy since he felt a bit like Nathan lite but liked the episode especially how nonchalant the gang was when burying two more bodies .

I'm luke warm to Rudy right now. There were a bit too many "This is something Nathan would say" moments for my liking, especially since Rudy tries to diffuse every situation with humour. But his split personality power is interesting and I'm hoping for better things to come from it. I prefer Downer Rudy actually. Miss Time Stop was great though. I'm glad Howard Overman hasn't lost any of his talent for writing great Monster of the Weeks. I'm not sure about the rest of the gang's powers either. Kelly's just seems like a cheap gag and Curtis' is just weird. His excuse for taking it was there was no other powers left but... does he have to have a power? I almost think it'd be more interesting to explore what it would be like to be a normal person in a gang of people with magical powers. Fortunately, next week they seem to be doing something worthwhile with Curtis' power.

Admittedly there were a few "Nathan-esque" moments with Rudy, but I've warmed up to him. I wasn't sure if lil' Miss Hyperventilation had a time stop (as anything non-human continued to function as normal) or some sort of ability to place people into suspended animation. Curious set of powers this time around, I'm really interested to see what they'll do with them over the course of the season. This is pure speculation on my part, but I suspect that Curtis will genderswap to find out firsthand what women like - which is bound to make for some great lines. Man, I just have so many shows to watch now.

I never really expected this season to be bad, or even "less than great", but the premiere still totally outperformed my expectations. Rudy is already a far better character to me than Nathan ever was. As to people complaining about their new powers not being good... uh, there's a guy they can go visit to get new ones any time they want, you know? Obviously at some point in the Misfits-verse Simon gets the power to go back in time, right? So I wouldn't already be worried that Kelly is going to spend this whole season being a rocket scientist. Overall, everything clicked just right and the show is back in full force. Absolutely loved it. If I had to complain about anything, it's that it seemed like people-stop-girl would have more than a one-episode arc.

Then he'd just be gone, and everyone else could move on to whatever happens. As it is, there is this really pointless imitation Nathan on the show which only serves to attract attention to what the show is missing now. Not only do I not like the character, he's also a constant reminder of absence of a character I did like. That said, I found myself liking the old characters more, and Simon is really starting to stand out. All in all though, I don't think I'll be going out of my way to keep up with the show any longer. Nathan aside, I found it to be pretty "Blah". It just seems a bit lifeless, and the new powers seem pretty dull.

I have to say I wasn't impressed. There's usually a couple of jokes that make me laugh out loud but this time the only thing that did that was related to anal sex. The last series seemed like it was building up to something and this one went nowhere. I realise this was probably mainly intended to introduce a new character with a little foreshadowing for the rest of the series but I didn't like the whole tabula rasa thing: essentially were back to square one (they're all back on probation) with new lovely powers. Putting them back on probation was cheaply done aswell, caught in a stolen car with somebody with no redeeming qualities with which they should want to hang around with. The rocket science power felt tacked on for a cheap laugh too. The main problem is that I have no idea who the characters are or what they can do and I'm not seeing anything that would make me want to find out. I know you lot like them but bland anal jokes aren't enough for me, I expect more from this series.
