Guild chat is filled with goons helping goons by giving away whatever items they find and grouping for instances. We're up to 486 accounts signed up onto the guild. We want this even bigger! For some reason older versions of WoW didn't correctly recognize displays that were not set as #1 in display settings. If you go into display settings and your current monitor is set as 2 or anything other than 1, that's your problem. So, you want to become a man like me do you? Get to 60, kill some giant penis, get lavender encrusted suits of armor? "Why yes you sexy stud!", you say, while admiring my bulging abs. Well young soon to be wizard or warrior or pansy rear end sit in the back healing me while I do all the work cleric, you have come to the right post. What I should know before joining This isn't "I'll make a Priest to heal this sexy stud and be in raids within 2 weeks" kind of WoW, infact you'll be lucky to even be in your 50s within 2 weeks. Sure the ultimate goal in end-game raiding, however, this is before the huge XP nerfs that came about from BC onword. Vanilla was more about the journy to 60 and then the preperaton before you steped into that long sought after raid you wanted to go into. Leveling is, to put it in laymen terms, really bloody slow. It offten involves grinding humanoid mobs just so you can be within 1-2 levels of the next quest mobs in order to move on. WHAT?! But that dosn't sound fun at all! This is where you're right and wrong at the same time. While classic was very grind heavy, the combat 'flows' better than many other big MMOs making the grind fun and enjoyable, gear has decent chances of dropping (about 15min of farming will get you some sort of green, in other classic MMOs you'll be lucky to see useless gear within 3 hours), leveling quests are very plentfull and at later levels you might find that you can actually start skipping certain zones if you desire. There are many group quests along the way and with the ammount of people leveling you're bound to find someone to do them with you. I am lazy and want people to choice what to play for me, what classes are rarly seen Currently, Warlocks and Mages are fairly rare at higher levels. Of those 2, Warlocks are much easier to level due to their multiple ways of regaining mana and ability to 'juggle' 2-3 mobs at once without falling below 50% hp. In all honesty roll what you would think you'd have fun with, we don't require you be X, Y, or Z in order to be with us. I have 478239487932 gold on live and want it here, what Proff should I pick up There are very few Leather Workers currently on the server, and far to many enchanters. Again, do what you want, we're not forcing you into anything The last private server I went to they had people instantly at level 60 in T3 killing me as I spawned in No instant 60 or donation gear here. Freaky (the head of this project) has stated that this project is to recreate an actual Vanilla server, and not to mess around in T3 with your fav weapons playing as He-man or whateverthefuck. Bugs are also fixed at a very fast rate, and GMs have very fast responce times. I'm scared that I'll end up being alone because the same thing happened in P99 and SWGEMU This server came out a little over a month ago, and has only been growing in number, at peak hours the goon guild has +60 members, and that is just people online (we have about 500 accounts in guild). Now is a prime time to join, bring your friends, your dog, your mother, sit down with a bag of cheeze-its, and start the fun! I'm still not convinced! Old double attack limit is in, so you can do upwords of 5 double attacks instead of just 1. A lot of the silly stupid stuff that you heard about from classic is in, including Mind Controlling people off boats! Throwing bombs at Golemagg and giggling to yourself! Currupted Blood bombing your own capital! Crashing the server to prevent another guild from opening the AQ gates! Kiting world bosses to citys! Actual world PvP instead of flying away! Trolls! Just how good are WoW server emulators now? I tried one back in late 2005 and it was extremely primitive, combat didn't even really work. I assume they've advanced a lot since then, but are there any major features or mechanics that still don't work or are buggy?

They will chain heal or nuke, sometimes, which can be frustrating or a blessing - depending on the circumstance.

I want to say something about this. This is not only the best vanilla server I have played on for being pure oldschool, but also because right now, its totally making me reminisce about day one Vanilla. Everyone in in the 1-20 range, and its been so long, you'll constantly see people remember how loving gigantic the Barrens really is, or actually need to find Mankirks wife for every bit of eked out exp, rather then just lulzmeme. Most privates have a ton of issues, or its obvious the devs are just doing it so they can make themselves a L60 with epic stuff and stand in Ogrimmar and kill people. This server actually feels like the guy running it loved Vanilla, and just wants to relive it, everything is remade just like it was back then, and while there are still a few things around that need to be looked at, the guy is active and trying to fix everything. Its only real flaw is it lacks people, however for every goon that joins, that gets fixed a little more. I'm honestly super excited to get to 60, go through all the old dungeons, and have my raid content topped off at 60 Naxx, never having to worry about TBC, Wrath, or Cata.

This is exactly what's got me hooked here as well. I cannot fuckin' wait to chain run people through UBRS for their Ony quest, watch Molten Rumblers send fools flying into the lava, and get the high of killing Nef/C'Thun/etc for the first time. I'm in-game as Vivienne, UD holy priest (yes I'm leveling as holy because I hate my life). I've convinced my boyfriend to play a Tauren prot warrior, Siegebreaker, and I think we've got a friend joining as a druid soon as well.

I'm up to ~230 alchemy (and herbalism) if anyone needs pots made. In game name is Dinadass. I've got a ton of liferoot but stocks are kind of low on most other stuff. I currently have like 50 of the 12hp/5 elixirs if anyone wants any. If anyone else is leveling herbalism, try to find spots that tend to have a ton of nodes all popped in a small area. Just north of the Mulgore zep tower has a lot of low level nodes. The river in Hilsbrad has a ton of liferoot. I'm sure there are others too but I haven't really gone looking.

Then for the second half, if the GM commands made available to us include summoning mobs, we could get a Kazzak in Stormwind and imply it was kited there, or if that isn't allowed, just go to MC and get footage of fighting a corehound, even if we can't actually survive long without a full 40.I think the level 1 orc raid people were discussing would be awesome, but I just don't think we'll be able to get the numbers together to do it. Also I think we should put in at least some effort, because although Freaky says video views will be as important as the forum poll, I think if we put in an obviously lovely video he will decide to change the rules on us or find some way to give us the business.

As a small history lesson, the early versions of TheAddon (/SomethingAddon) used a frame you could move around that had the character's name and the emoticon texture. That'd still work even though it's 1000% shittier. I've been on Tuskarhymes huntering it up with these fine chaps.

Small correction to the OP. The pack from Mediafire is better; it has less mods, but pretty much everything is much newer than in the 600 addon pack. And it also has a working version of Bagnon.

So I've rolled and played priest a bit. I wanted to spec mainly as shadow, but apparently shadow priests are pretty useless in raids, with the lack of Misery and Vampiric Touch. I know they're good in PvP, but with the alliance:horde balance being like this, that doesn't look too promising. Dual speccing would be wonderful, but of course it's not in vanilla and respec is pretty expensive. I'm sticking with shadow for leveling, but I'm not sure about end-game. Should I stay with shadow and just try to be useful on raids, or should I respec as healing to be more useful, maybe changing back to shadow if PvP improves?

Combine this with being a hunter (able to solo rare elites), an auction house shared between alliance and horde, and a couple hundred players looking to ease the painful vanilla experience, it's his market.
