I saw Ecks vs. Sever on TBS or FX late one night and it wasn't the worst cinematic crime ever committed. Like someone said about Cutthroat Island, it was just bland and forgettable.

I saw the Shadow in theatres as a youngster and remembered liking it. When I saw it again - oof. That did NOT hold up.

And in all the dicussion of Dreamcatcher I can't believe no one mentioned the fact that it's basically Stephen King remixing his own work. It's almost an alternate reality version of It.

Also seconding (or thirding) that DOA is possibly both the best* and the most true-to-source videogame movie made to date. It's just a goofy, glossy update of Enter The Dragon with hot chicks in bikinis, and it has no shame about that.

(*Relatively speaking, obviously.)

I would argue Mortal Kombat beats DOA in both categories.

I watched Showgirls the other night. I didn't know much about it other than it was directed by the director of Robocop and everyone hated it.
It was Direct-to-DVD mediocre, but still an amusing watch, and had a vibe of a much older film (hilarious 90s hair aside). And, it was pretty sexy.

Wouldn't watch again, but I don't regret watching it at least once.

It's a fascinating movie when you realize who is in on the joke and who isn't.

The best part about Batman: The Movie was how Batman worked out which villains were involved. That was amazing.
"And it all adds up to a very disturbing riddle."
"Riddle? Riddle-er!"

The fact that most of Catwoman's super criminal uses are seduction and sweeping up dehydrated goons makes me die every time.

Also someone make a ska band called Ballpoint Banana.

Isn't this movie supposed to take place in the same universe as Equilibrium?
