Gotta agree that Jonathan seems a bit burned out..between 'don't call me Jah', 'losing' his phone, and the week off it's definitely a bit suspicious, but given they've been doing the show for 6 years now basically for free, I can't really blame him, and I'm sure his personal life has a lot going on that isn't talked about on the show. Speaking of finances..it's a shame they haven't had sponsors for a while, but after listening to the old episodes I'm not surprised they don't have any right now. It seems like anything beyond the actual show (live shows, sponsors, the store) is a pretty big hassle for the guys, and a lot of the talk of 'we want to get paid for this' died out pretty quick after they actually got a few sponsors. They didn't do a great job plugging their sponsors either, in my opinion, but I could just be weird about that. Seth also sounded like he was going to have a full-on panny every time he got going about the live shows too, so I'm sure it'll be a while before one of those happens again. New ep was great though, depressed dads had me laughing out loud for the first time in a while.

I don't think it was crazy to think that Jonathan may have needed a week off, and I also don't think his choice of intro/outro songs for 319 were a coincidence. Regardless, I think the bigger news from the past few weeks is J-Dog stepping it up during the name game this week (glad to have that bit back, it'd been too long).

The hook for this show, for me, was in episode 5, when Jonathan declared interracial porn to be the best form of porn except for being intimidated by the black guys talking. Like others have said, the quality of this show is amazingly consistent though, so starting from the beginning just makes sense. That being said, I've been starring episodes in iTunes so I can rotate favorites on my Shuffle, and episode 39 is really on point. Chris Angel, humpin', pissing your pants, crazy-rear end porn...if you're looking for an early ep to start with, you can't go wrong with 39.

Listening to Seth & J-Dawg much down on Doritos is probably the only time I've laughed at people eating food. Also, random, but I think I've settled on my 'what episode should I listen to first?' episode: 127. It contains a ton of the video'd youtube clips that people tend to recommend here (Denny's New Slogan, one of the best 'Who's Parenting Harder' bits ever, some awesome craigshouse (shout about this cock!)) plus a bunch of other awesome bits too. Check it.

JethroMcB posted:I introduced two friends to the show with that episode, completely by accident. It was the random episode I had picked for a long drive, and by the Denny's segment they were dying laughing. I got a little nervous when they started the Craig's House segment, thinking the new listeners might find it extreme (I mean that's PRIME Craig's House period,) but that naturally that was the part that had them laughing the hardest. Oh God, I knew that the vegan bit was in the episode, but I for the life of me I couldn't find it. Plus the Playgirl bit on top of the vegan rant..holy hell there is so much concentrated awesome in that episode. "I'm gonna get a Snickers Charged, some Newports, and a Playgirl. "..and d'ya have matches? I'm gonna light it all on fire." edit: also, because I clearly can't praise this episode enough: It's No Big Deal, You Need To Get Over It. WoG posted:One of his assertions in one of the very first episodes was how interracial porn 'would be perfect, if you didn't have to hear black dudes talking'. You can read a few levels deep on that one, and I can see it being enough to turn off listeners who started at 1. It's funny because that was one of the things that hooked me for good. I guess I just found the whole thing hilarious rather than offensive, and his continued explanations just made everything funnier, what with Seth just sitting there in silence.

In one of the episodes, Seth was talking about a website where you could look up specific words to find out if they were a part of any cities, landmarks, etc. (the specific example he used was the word negro); does anyone know what website this was? I could have sworn I had it bookmarked, but I can't for the life of me find it.
