Ah Chris, you're a lovely, positive fellow but you make it hard sometimes.

He always sounds like he's mocking singing, though, doing a stupid voice. If you're gonna do it just sing normally, stop doing an Eddie Vedder impression.

Yeah I guess if you throw the rest of the episode out and focus on that one bit where he says he didn't understand something then he's trying to prove he's unsmart, you're right.

So last week I discovered that The Nerdist Way is available on Audible.com. I'd waited four weeks for my credit to renew so I could get Catch-22, but I was way too excited about this to wait another month to get it. Totally worth one credit. Now I wish Chris Hardwick would go into the narrating business and read Don Quixote to me. :allears: One of the best parts of getting the audiobook was also getting to hear Hardwick's interpretation of his own "An Open Letter from Doc Brown to Marty McFly."

I'm glad I had the book on hand, though. A good portion of the book is devoted to talking about exercise/getting into shape, and ~40 pages of that involve illustrations on how to (properly) use various types of workout equipment. He does provide a decent description of each procedure, but sometimes it can be confusing without a picture to look at.

I should be the new Nerdist, because I actually got really spergy nerd-mad when he was doing it over Matt talking about his NASA experience in "Mattstronaut". It was his life dream coming true and you're ruining his story about it Chris :argh:

If that's not nerdy I don't know what is.

Every once in a while, he'd briefly touch on something that could be used as a valid criticism of Wikipedia, but then he'd go back to his earlier ramblings.

Yeah, his "nerdism" has always been much more about liking Dr. Who and Firefly than about having any real technical knowledge.

Not that it bothers me at all. It is what it is. And I also like Dr. Who and Firefly. I'm also used to the idea that most people have a very limited understanding of the technology that surrounds their lives.

I want to say they've discussed it a little on an episode without seemingly knowing what they were actually talking about (hey, that sounds familiar!).

Best part about the wikipedia rant is Chris saying wikipedia is too big/used like an encyclopedia. And his encyclopedia he used as a kid didn't have references or sources, so why should wikipedia. What a dumb person.

The Attell episode was good, especially when he though Jonah was the host of the show and had no idea who Chris was. The show would be much funnier if it was just Jonah and Matt, instead of Chris not allowing them to ever talk.

That would get super old super fast, their dynamic is already pretty annoying as it is. Basically the show should just be Jonah Ray talking about comedy and telling stories and he has a guest

The Wikipedia thing was funny back when he mentioned about them listing him as having a half brother Peter that didn't really exist.

Like what was mentioned in the conversation, he just needs to have a episode list on the Nerdist website and not relying on Wikipedia users to keep one for him.

The problem, of course, is that people rely on Wikipedia so much just because it's at the top of the list for almost any google search. People who are super familiar might know where to find the rss feed that list all the nerdist podcasts, but a lot of people will hit up wikipedia, and if the episode list isn't there, it won't help them. Chris' problem is that he couldn't just add the information to wikipedia, he'd have to create a reputable source that could then be used as a basis for a similar list on wikipeida (assuming some self-appointed wiki bureaucrat doesn't delete it over notability issues).

He was having legit issues with wikipedia, he was just incredibly ignorant about why he was having them.

I think she's got one of the funniest twitter accounts there is and don't know her from anything else, and her stuffed-nose-sounding voice and even, deliberate tone rubbed me the wrong way for some weird reason. Wasn't what I imagined at all. She came off really passive and even disinterested at times, which I know she wasn't, but the way she interacted with the guys made it seem that way. She's almost annoyingly cute and sweet. Also she's incredibly beautiful. But I didn't get much of the awesomeness she usually communicates in 140 characters :(
