Even in the terrible land of DEEN animation, by that point in the story it should be obvious that kind of thing is not the focus.

This was what made the following scene so jarring for me: they left in the awkward buildup (without the actual lesbian making out) and then... that lead up to mana dragon shenanigans?? If I hadn't already been familiar with the VN and the sex scenes I would've been really confused. It just felt... weird to leave that in when they were scrubbing out the rest of the sex.

Instead, Kiritsugu is well-trained at using guns, has access to a vast amount of modern weaponry with the intelligence and cruelty to use it, has the ability to control his "internal time", which somehow translates to becoming the Flash, and shoots bullets specifically made to completely destroy magic. Its already going to be lovely enough because people will ignore the rules and post spoilers for Zero anyway (just like any other thread) so I'd rather not have to ignore every single black bar when new episodes are released just in case its for stuff we havent seen.

I say keep Fate/Stay Night under spoiler tags (at least for the time being), and label what you're spoiling whenever you use black bars. Especially if you're going to pepper in stuff like Fate/Extra spoilers since that hasn't even been released yet. Ideally Zero spoilers should be avoided entirely.

He is a rather mediocre magus and as he can't even turn on his magic circuits properly, considering that he taught Shirou to do it wrong. Kiritsugu is very good at fighting and is an expert at killing other magi, but he's not that powerful. Isn't Taiga supposedly more than a match for Ryougi Shiki? Sufficiently motivated (e.g. by hunger), Issei doesn't stand a chance.

"Kojirou" is a nameless farmer who learned how to cheat the space time continuum by slicing really, REALLY fast, no magic necessary, and goes toe to toe with everyone but Gil. He's awesome. TA is a classic example of a character who is cheaply hyped up by coming in during the 3rd act and taking out all the other characters shown to be tough up to that point. The other two HF exclusive enemies are like that too, but TA is the worst.

He's awesome. TA really isn't hyped up at all. Basically the first thing that's said about him is that it's literally impossible for him to kill Lancer without help (as opposed to only practically impossible like most other servants). I mean, I guess the reader MIGHT think that what holds Lancer is part of TA but if I remember correctly I had an idea that that was a separate entity (though I forget why, I should reread fsn (with the realta nua patch)).

IIRC, the only characters TA actually takes down are Saber and Lancer, and that was with the help of a special entity devoted to killing Servants. I guess you could say he took down the fake Assassin too, but that doesn't really count considering that was just TA taking his rightful place. For the most part, TA's a lot like his Master in that he stays away from all of the fighting, only to get completely owned by someone when he does actually fight. So I'm not seeing how he's supposed to be cheaply hyped. BlitzBlast fucked around with this message at 02:11 on Sep 28, 2011 |
