Howard Kremer and his trusty chart keeper Kulap Vilaysack are here with the charts of the week. Learn what is hitting in music and movies, and learn about some of your favorite comedians with games like Chart Roulette.

Who Charted? is ostensibly a show devoted to what's trending in pop culture (the week's top grossing movies, the top sellers on itunes, what have you), but if you're looking for serious discussions on that go elsewhere. On this show the charts are used as jumping off points for Howard, Kulap and their comedian friends to riff on anything and everything. There's a new episode every Wednesday.

Who Charted? on Earwolf
itunes

Where to start?
Paul F Tompkins has guested on seemingly every podcast on the internet, but his two appearances on Who Charted? are a cut above. One Two
Andy Richter,
Scott Aukerman (Kulap's husband),
Andy Daly and
Harris Wittels have all guested on great episodes.

I like this podcast.

The best episodes are the ones where the guest absolutely hates the music on the chart. I'd recommend the Bob Odenkirk and Zach Galifianakis episodes.

Hi WeeWee!

When I first started listening to Who Charted I thought Howard was a 65 year old awesome dude who didn't know much about pop-culture and that was why it was funny, but then I found out he's like maybe 40 or something and really crazy looking and it's funny for different reasons now, but it stands on its own as a good podcast.

The one with Howard's brother as the guest was the best. Him conversing with Howard and talking about Kulap's boobs was fantastic.

That's been the only time I haven't been able to get through an episode. His shtick just doesn't mesh well with the tone of the show. Even the hosed up Brody Stevens episode is more tolerable than that one.

It's weird because I think I remember liking the first episode he was on. But this one was just too much.

This show is just so much fun. Kulap's fits of laughter when Howard goes off on his bizarre digressions are contagious.

I particularly loved the show with Brian Posehn, he is one of the most entertaining angry people. I could listen to him complain about the music he hates all day.

Certainly I was sufficiently insecure to have felt the need to establish to my own satisfaction before the age of 33 whether or not humans can fly. If that makes me a chippy little autodidact in your eyes then so be it.

Maybe I was just in the mood for it, but I laughed my rear end off through that entire episode.

It's so weird, because I love this podcast but I have seriously mixed feelings on WeeWee himself. His rapper persona always reminded me too much of Jamie Kennedy's shtick, which I never liked in the first place. But the way in which he interacts with Kulap and his guests, especially when it comes to ridiculously bad or weird music, is pretty consistently funny. So I enjoy it.

The Andy Richter episode's probably my favorite, by the way. The manner in which he characterized the awful Euro-techno that played in his music section was dead-nuts on, in my book: evocative of "two guys loving continuously in a mechanical way."

There are by Dragon Boy Suede, Howard's alter ego. They're on itunes.

Rapper persona, really? I've never seen him live and have only listened to him and I was picturing him more as a burnout homeless person.

We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust.

The Kindler ep was a bit down, but I couldn't help but crack up at his complete inability to stay quiet before the guest intro. My favorite ep so far is probably Auckerman, but they are all good. Especially the bit about being a vampire and working in a jet-powered motorcycle factory, and Howard continuing to rephrase the question. Not a huge fan of his singing, but would totally watch a talk show he hosted. The interaction between the two of them totally makes the show and that carried over to their appearance on doug loves movies. I try not to get too invested though, in case INS gets wind and hauls Kulap back to her homeland, but it definitely gets played first on the day it drops.

Well, he is Dragon Boy Suede. Still, he doesn't do the whole "obnoxious white dude from middle class suburbia rapping like he has street cred" thing, which is nice. I was a little afraid that that was what he was doing when I first listened to the podcast, but he isn't.

I love this show to pieces, I wanna hang out with Howard and Kulap all day. Actually, I wanna marry Kulap but that's another story.

However, the Tim Heidecker episode was the first one I didn't really enjoy. It only got good when he would stop doing his "saying ridiculous things in utterly sincere tone" shtick. It's okay to break character and laugh once in a while, Tim.

While I do absolutely love all Tim and Eric related things I am starting to think that maybe they both have some sort of serious anxiety issue that prevents them from being sincere in public. You can almost hear the fear in their voice when asked to answer a question honestly. I still love them but I would love just one sincere interview where I can actually learn something about them without having to figure out which things are just really dry, plausible jokes.

I normally hate Heidecker in everything he does but damnit I actually liked that episode. I think it was just the chemistry between Weewee and Laps that saves everything when they have a bad guest.

I can't tell if Howard is just a kinda funny guy and good comic or an absolute comedy genius. Most of the funniest things he says seem to be weird accidental flubs, misunderstandings, semi-embarrassing peeks into his personality/issues, or him just grasping for words to finish a sentence he'd started without a gameplan...

but then again, I kind of think it might all be intentional and a part of his comedy persona with the way people on other podcasts talk about him and how brilliant he was playing both sides of the conversation in the episode with Lee.

Howard seems to be a funny guy, a pretty good comic, and the most unintentionally funny man on Earth.

He sent me the mp3 version of nut valet last week, I can host it if anyone wants it. I think it's the only track he hasn't released on iTunes, that and I'm not paying $500 to watch douchebags eat turkey
