I hate to interrupt this discussion, which is fascinating- the fact that it enables this sort of conversation is a huge part of why I love New Vegas- but I've finally got around to the DLCs and after killing Dr Mobius in Old World Blues, I'm getting CTDs about 50% of the time when I fast travel, even after returning to the Mojave. Anybody else had this?

I really wanted to explain to Daniel how giving the raiders what they want just teaches them that to keep demanding things. I was disappointed to see "let's just give them the land we've always lived on and assume they won't follow us" treated as something that an otherwise intelligent-seeming person would propose.

I've discovered that my favorite thing in New Vegas is .50 MG Explosive. It combines all the excellence of a dude getting killed by an enormous bullet with all the excitement of his body exploding with the force of a grenade, killing all his friends. And it's a bullet, so you don't even have to time it like a grenade! It's taken the Anti-Materiel Rifle from "best gun ever!" to "why do I even carry anything else?"

It was kind of cheesy, but I liked the head vampire guy. He was taking a bunch of degenerate cannibals and giving them a purpose and a reason to exist, and in the meantime making them less dangerous to everybody else. Can anyone help with this? Hold down the Pip-Boy button for a few seconds to toggle your light.

I'd have loved OWB if it had been designed by somebody who doesn't hate me for playing a sneaky sniper. Or if it had included ammo for guns actually worth shooting (5.56? Are they assuming I brought the Bozar?). Or... You know, I guess I love the writing and the quest design and the voice acting, and hate the actual mechanical bits.

The only issue with GRA is that most of the guns it adds have ridiculous prices which are completely disconnected from the actual utility of the gun. If you've got a lot of Barter and you're constantly hustling for caps, it's not such a thing, but otherwise most of the GRA weapons are things you'll be long past having a use for by the time you can afford them.

The Elevator was easy, but Implant GRX makes a lot of things easy. Is it normal, as your level climbs into the high 40s, for everything to slow down all the time? My lower-level characters don't have this problem, but it seems like everything, from loading to opening containers, takes ages on my 48 character.

I'm into Dead Money now, and goddamn. I understand why the other DLCs have their scaling- if you're high-level, you've got enough bullets for everybody. But Dead Money not only gives you horrible bullet sponges, it takes away all your loving ammo so that there's no point in using projectile weapons. I've heard people say that it's supposed to be survival horror-ish, and I'd be down for that, except I can't even run away from the loving things because my companion- and you'd be stupid not to keep one with you, especially Dean or Christine- won't. E: If you're going to take away my ammo and scale up enemy health, you need to give me more loving ammunition. Pope Guilty fucked around with this message at 09:40 on Jan 18, 2012 |

I dislike the GRA weapons having absurd prices because it means that I have to play like an obsessive hoarder every time. Sometimes, yeah, I've got 175K caps when I hit 50, but I shouldn't have to do that EVERY time.

If there's no potential benefit from doing so, by being able to find cool stuff, I have no motivation to go out and explore. I've been struggling to pick the game back up after that quest with the hooker at Gomorrah's where I ran back and forth between there and the Vault for about an hour before she finally told me I didn't have a high enough speech skill to complete the quest. gently caress you, Elijah! Leaving him trapped in that loving vault was immensely satisfying. Now I've got a different problem. I did Dead Money in the middle of doing that quest where you convince the Great Khans to back the NCR. Now, whenever I go back to Red Rock Canyon, some of the Khans attack me on sight- Jerry the Punk is annoying enough (I'm trying to help you, rear end in a top hat!), but if Papa Khan sees me, he starts shooting, and then everybody starts shooting. Any suggestions on what I've done wrong here, or how I can fix it?
