My final FNV run this year before perhaps a very long break will be a big massive idiot Legion guy. I've never really been an absolute rear end and supported the Legion. It'll be interesting.

I'm doing my final run of it with A Tale Of Two Wastelands. Both games are very fun but very different (and unstable now for FO3) beasts.

Did New Vegas ever have a ammunition crafting tutorial? It covered the basics at the camp fire but until recently I never knew scrap metals could be turned into lead.

Well I did already know all that, figuired it out fast guys. Just wondering if a NPC in the game actually told you though as it is pretty esoteric with the guns side of things.

But that less fiddly crafting UI module is pretty awesome.

Collars aren't really an issue for me anyone as by the 3rd time through I said gently caress it and found a mod that disabled them. I didn't really mind the non Hardcore mode of the toxic cloud, hell I got a mod that introduced and gave gas masks a use to deal with that.

I wouldn't mind sort of a STALKER-esqe blow out special event once in a rare while or Dead Money style gas hazards for some places in future installments of the game. It really depends how they designed and handled in game. It would suck if they were just dumped on a player out of the blue.

What mod did you use to get rid of the collars? I was too stupid to get through Dead Money the real way even though the setting and story looked really cool (BEGIN AGAIN!). :smith:

I use this one, crude but it works. Now you can explore the Madre to your hearts content.

It was a good idea tension wise, but I feel it was used too much and at some points it was kind of bullshit. If modified some way I wouldn't reject the return in future games.

I love the story, atmosphere, companions and the general message. Shame a few janky mechanics lets it down and multiple play through fatigue sets in.

Trapping a certain jerk in a certain vault with the gold always makes me smile though. Also, in this play through with TOTW I'm pretty much decided to drop CONELRAD as am really getting sick of some songs on it.

So what is the canon ending for Lonesome Road anyway? the one where you manage to convince Ulysses not to nuke either regions then team up with him with for that show down with the marked men?

That was pretty cool until it revealed well that was pretty much it for convincing him it is kind of wrong to use nukes. Despite using nukes to get to him.

Man that DLC was weird and badly thought out at times. Shame really, had some really interesting concepts going for it. Except the shoulder mounted machine gun.

After finishing my 3rd time siding with House, I still have to say the Kings just getting a brutally raw deal of being wiped out if you broker peace for Freeside is really the only thing that actually bothers me.

It wouldn't be much of an issue if you weren't a pro NCR/Followers kind of player but drat that being the only choice is just cold. Even for a Technocrat like House who put up and assumingly continues to put up tribal gang stuff in the strip proper.

So yeah, rejecting this. The only jerk who died was Pacer. Mr House sponsered the Kings and it somehow led to the creation of the first Elvis cover of a song in centuries. Thats how I'm seeing it.

Yeah, it almost seems like there was some cut content with House. I definitely feel like the Courier should've been able to tamper back his grimmer tendencies, but then again maybe that's the point of the character.

I think you can depending on the player stance with ethics and all that. I usually am a nice guy in these games and all my House endings are usually THE COURIER GUIDED MR HOUSE AND WATCHED OVER THE MOJAVE IN THE SHADOWS TO ENSURE STABILITY or something around that effect.

Still, Mr House clearly gives no gently caress at all what happens to the outskirts of Vegas. And he clearly didn't care what happened to the NCR as long as they weren't messing with his poo poo.

Unless he really has strong feelings about water being charged for and Elvis. Which would be hilarious at least since he flies off the handle about the Brotherhood.

I mean, that ending would make more sense if there was an option to utterly corrupt or convince the Kings to gently caress directly with Vegas but all you did was ensure the NCR guys handing out free food weren't getting stomped.

I imagine like with most Freeside stuff there was content cut and something else was planned.

It is kind of funny though, Omertas? arming the Legion and preparing for a direct up rising in the strip itself. Just a minor change in management needed.

Not stomping the NCR because they are providing food for NCR Refugees? well, sorry guess I got to wipe you out.

I'd be more alright with it I guess if House at least did more with Freeside and North Vegas like expanding the strip or tearing them down and building up his own vision of a secure and strip friendly Freeside.

Who says he isnt going to do that? Hes probably going to start building factories and hire the locals to start actually producing industry. So far hes only been focusing on the casino since his forces were limited. Now he actually has enough robots to project a proper defence around Vegas so he can get a proper industry going.

Fair enough, logically that would be the next step for the character. Hell there is a sort of active steel works ready to go on the outskirts near Fiend territory.

Still brutally gunning down the Kings (which came off more as a Greaser style community focused gang to me) in what sounded like a nasty gang war might not be the best way in convincing the local people to work in Vegas 2.0.
