Allow me to make a case for how much I love F:NV This is my character. I'm not what you'd call a fighter. In fact, I'm probably a buck fifty soaking wet, and I've got a glass jaw. I'm just here to have a good time, man. Other folks get their deep pockets turned out at casinos and give up rocket launchers, miniguns, assault carbines. Me? I get out of trouble with my mouth. You can't help but like me, or at least laugh me off as not a credible threat. Look man, that's okay too. With 10 luck and 10 charisma, who needs to even have strength of four? gently caress, let Raul tuck a gat. Let Veronica bust her knuckles. Gotta keep my hands soft to count caps, baby. But sometimes poo poo does go sideways in the Mojave. Sometimes you can't just be a suave motherfucker and make it rain at Gomorrah. Sometimes, somebody's got it out for you. And that's about when you find out just how much damage you can do with pistols only, hand loads, and more drugs than Hunter Thompson takes. Guess how much fixer I keep in my inventory? None, motherfuckers. Fixer is for quitters. Do ballers who loft their bed on gold ingots take Fixer? No they do not. Also I never had sex with Fisto or Beatrix seven times. Never no sir.

I'd totally get a better picture but I'm a console babby snapping bad pics on my iPhone. I'll see if I have something else that isn't so drat atrocious, but probably not. Feel free to use my narrative though.

rope kid posted:Just a random note: if you give Medicine Stick and a bunch of .45-70 Gov't SWCs to Raul after he's been upgraded on the "Old Vaquero" path... I used to hog all the .45-70 for myself to use in a hunting revolver, but now that there's much better aimey pistols for my pistoleer guy, I may finally retire .45-70 for good. I mean if I have to snipe something (rare), I might as well go all orbital strike and use YCS-186 with Max charge MC's, meltdown, psycho, slasher, and yao guai meat

My character's interaction with the Sierra Madre's lesson is a lot like Captain Kirk facing the Kobayashi Maru. He understands the premise, he just rejects it. The only time I'm "letting go" of that loving gold is when I'm paying the vendortron for all of this GRA cache.

So I spent a few hours being overincumbered, trudging from shop to shop in the New Vegas metro area, selling off half my Sierra Nevada gold to buy GRA schwag. Suddenly, a single legionary assassin busts out of the brush near the grub & gulp. I take a moment to decide which of my new weapons gets to be tested, and decide on Esther + Tiny Tot cluster nukes. Effective demonstration! (minor collateral damage sadly Fitz and Lupe are no longer with us) Also I totally started humming the Kill Bill theme song as I slowly walked through freeside slicing up the random crackhead who somehow thinks its a good idea to attack the guy in desert ranger armor with a katana on his hip. Also, Lil' Devil is my new favorite murder button. Better DAM, DPS, and magazine capacity than A Light Shining in Darkness, plus added critical chance? poo poo yes.

I'm surprised to hear folks say there's a qualitative dip between Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. If anything, I found Fallout 2 to take everything that is great in Fallout 1 and improve upon it. It's a vastly larger game, full of more things to do, and you can do it without a ticking clock plot effect. You should definitely get both and play them, especially for the price. They're too good to ignore.

So F:NV has finally made me decide to be one of those people who dress up and go to cons or something:

Pharmaskittle posted:That banner might be the hardest part of the costume too, because the rest is basically sports equipment. Pretty much. I've got everything put together except for a catcher's chest protector, just because I want the old style and they're hit or miss. I'll have to make a tunic by hand, and I have no idea how to sew. Can't be that hard though. Wife's making a ballistic fist for the costume, so I get all the easy work.
